Bulls For Kids Student Board
Board Description: Formerly known as Dance Marathon, the Bulls for Kids
Student board provides a unique leadership opportunity for USF students
committed to continuing the culture of dance marathon on our campus. Compiled
of three student-led teams, this board is responsible for seeing that the year-long
culture of dance marathon is infused into USF tradition. The Bulls for Kids
Student board offers board and committee member’s leadership experiences
through responsibilities that include managing event logistics, building
relationships with All Children’s Hospital, campus outreach, and fundraising.
Finance Team
I. External Fundraising Committee
The External Fundraising Committee will reach out to the Tampa Bay community
in an attempt to create relationships with sponsors. This committee is great for
people looking to grow their skills in public speaking, planning, and analytical
thinking.
Responsibilities:
• Assist with the contacting and securement of off-campus sponsorships and
donations
• Network with businesses in the Tampa Bay to strengthen relationships with
BFK
• Communicate BFK’s purpose and mission in an effective and professional
manner
• Attend weekly committee meetings
II. Internal Fundraising Committee
The role of the Internal Fundraising Committee is to get USF involved in
fundraising on campus. If you want to develop good communication skills, learn
about fundraising, or gain leadership experience, all while making a difference for
All Children's Hospital, this would be a great opportunity to do so!
Responsibilities:
• Assist with the contacting and securement of on-campus sponsorships and
donations
• Provide students with opportunities to fundraise for the hospital on campus
• Communicate BFK’s purpose and mission in an effective and professional
manner
• Attend weekly committee meetings
III. Mini Dance Marathon Committee
Mini Dance Marathon is in charge of motivating and inspiring the middle school
and high school students in the Tampa Bay community to host their own Dance
Marathons. Members serve as advisers and mentors to the students during their
journey of planning a successful DM.
Responsibilities:
• Assist with the planning and development of Mini Dance Marathons at
local high schools and middle schools
• Serve as mentors to Tampa area students
• Attend weekly committee meetings
IV. Treasurer Committee
The Treasurer Committee is in charge of BFK’s money. Any donations or funds
given to BFK must be properly accounted for through our online system, Donor
Drive.
Responsibilities:
• Learn how to use Donor Drive
• Track all donations, funds, and sponsorships accurately
• Collect and track all money during the Marathon
• Provide a monthly record of BFK financial activity
• Attend weekly committee meetings
Communications Team
I. Dancer Relations Committee
The Dancer Relations committee is about maintaining a meaningful relationship
with registered dancers by holding socials, color team meetings, and providing a
welcoming environment for all dancers.
Responsibilities:
• Communicate information to participants effectively, accurately, and
promptly
• Plan networking and fundraising opportunities for registered participants
• Track spirit points
• Work with a specific color team
• Attend weekly meetings
II. Recruitment Committee
The Recruitment committee is there to share the BFK mission and purpose with
student organizations, groups, clubs, and communities. They also educate
students about Bull For Kids.
Responsibilities:
• Share BFK’s mission and purpose in an effective and professional manner
• Educate perspective participants about the importance of registering and
creating teams
• Attend weekly committee meetings
III. Creative Committee
The creative committee is for students who like to use their creativity to bring
ideas to life. Members will be creating flyers, posters, and other marketing and
promotional materials.
Responsibilities:
• Create all marketing and promotional materials
• Manage the branding of the Bulls For Kids organization
• Attend weekly committee meetings
IV. Promotions Committee
The Promotions committee is responsible for promoting BFK’s mission and
purpose to the USF and Tampa communities. Members will promote BFK and all
its events to make them as successful as possible.
Responsibilities:
• Promote BFK and its events
• Manage BFK social media accounts and website
• Post flyers and chalk around campus
• Contact other student organizations about press releases and marketing
opportunities
• Attend weekly committee meetings
V. Greek Relations Committee
The Greek Relations committee is responsible for maintaining a meaningful
relationship between USF’s Greek organizations and Bulls For Kids. Members will
present the Marathon Information packet to Greek organizations participating in
the marathon and organize these participants into color teams.
Responsibilities:
• Communicate information to participating Greek organizations accurately,
effectively, and promptly
• Plan and organize BFK’s Greek Week of Service
• Organize Greek students’ color teams for the Marathon
• Keep Greek participants excited and engaged in BFK’s mission and events
• Attend weekly committee meetings
Event Team
I. Marathon Committee
The Marathon Committee focuses on the Bulls For Kids big celebration, which
takes place in the spring every year. Members will be involved in planning the
look and feel, performances, and overall logistics of the Marathon.
Responsibilities:
• Plan the Marathon and its many logistics
• Secure performances, games, activities, decorations, and food for the day
of the event
• Create an event matrix
• Attend weekly committee meetings
II. Special Events Committee
The Special Events Committee is looking for students who are interested in
spreading awareness for BFK through fun and innovative events. Members will be
responsible for planning one small fundraising event (i.e. bake sale).
Responsibilities:
• Assist with the planning and execution of fundraising events
• Spread awareness for the BFK mission through small-scale events catered
to USF students
• Attend weekly committee meetings
III. Family Relations Committee
The Family Relations Committee works closely with All Children’s Hospital.
Members work directly with the hospital to help make the patients’ and their
families’ lives as normal as possible.
Responsibilities:
• Assist with the planning of family events and building relationships with
the families of All Children’s Hospital
• Plan events and programs that help the kids of All Children’s Hospital
• Help the relationship between Bulls For Kids and All Children’s Hospital to
grow
• Attend weekly committee meetings
IV. Morale Committee
The Morale Committee is the face of BFK. Its purpose is to keep participants
excited about the cause and maintain a high morale throughout the entire year
and marathon. Morale is looking for members who are dedicated to the BFK cause
and excited about the Marathon.
Responsibilities:
• Keep participants excited and motivated throughout the year

Create, teach, and perform morale dances at the Marathon and other BFK
events
