Approaching $10 billion in value, the Notre Dame Endowment supports 30% of the University's operating budget each year and provides a major source of financial support for student financial aid, endowed professorships and academic programs. Mr. Malpass will discuss his investment philosophy and the challenges and opportunities in the capital markets today around the world. Malpass is a Notre Dame graduate (1984 and ‘86) and has been Chief Investment Officer for the University of Notre Dame since 1989. He is responsible for the University’s endowment, working capital, pension, and life income assets. He works with the investment committee of the University’s Board of Trustees and ensures the continuous success of the high-performing Notre Dame Endowment. Mr Malpass’ achievements include Large Endowment Manager of the Year Award from Institutional Investor magazine in 2011 and the James E. Armstrong Award for distinguished service to the University in 2000.
