ProSpect Pharma, Inc.
www.prospectpharma.com
ProSpect Pharma has proprietary technologies enabling the interactions of molecules to be studied in high resolution leading to improved, amended or prevented processes. ProSpect's methods work by placing certain stable isotopes ( 13
C, 15 N and deuterium) in certain specific sites of a molecule and examining the result by Nuclear Resonance and/or
Mass Spectrometry. In this way high resolution structures and/or metabolic profiles of drug targets and their complexes
can be obtained. Their methods have been shown to enable high resolution structural data to be obtained from many drug
target classes, including G-Protein Coupled Receptors (GPCRs) which constitute approx. 60% of all drug targets. Data
from other target classes suggest that timely availability of structural information can significantly increase the efficiency of
the drug design process.
Research Circle Associates, LLC
www.researchcircle.org
Research Circle Associates promotes technological innovation to inform health policy and decision making.
Safe Equine Technologies, Inc. / New Horizon Diagnostic, Inc.
www.safeequinetechnologies.com
Safe Equine Technologies (“SET”) and its strategic partner New Horizons Diagnostics, (“NHD”) co-occupy space at the
UMBC Incubator. SET is a narrow focus biotechnology company that develops and commercializes Diagnostics and
Therapeutics to safeguard the health of the equine population. Their products, which will be subject to regulatory
approval (i.e., USDA or EPA as applicable) prior to sale or distribution, are currently in the final stages of development.
These products are based upon two principal technologies – Bacteriophage derived Lytic Enzymes (Lysins or PlyC) and
Immunochromatographic Lateral Flow Diagnostics. The technologies are derived from the fundamental research efforts
of NHD and licensed to SET for completion and commercialization.
In conjunction with NHD, SET has developed an environmental disinfectant that eliminates two highly infective and
contagious pathogens, S. equi and S. zoo from the equine environment. SET’s environmental disinfectant is a targeted
18
eradicator of these microbes and is harmless to humans, horses and the environment. Prior to commercial distribution
and sale, this product will require EPA approval. No existing disinfectant can guarantee the destruction of these
organisms, while at the same time remaining harmless to animals and the materials often found in the equine
environment. The active ingredient in this product is a patented, proprietary highly specific and completely safe lytic
enzyme (“PlyC”) licensed from NHD.
Upon approval by the USDA, the Company’s next product offering will provide Veterinarians with a rapid, inexpensive
horse-side diagnostic test for identifying animals infected by the bacterium S. equi, the causative agent of Strangles, a
highly contagious disease. Strangles, where the route of infection is animal to animal or environmental, is of great
concern to horse-owners because it may be easily spread to new horses entering a barn, arena or field. SET’s rapid
diagnostic test can detect the presence of this pathogen using a simple “horse-side” format that produces answers in 15
minutes with results that compare favorably to those obtained from off-site PCR testing. Currently, no competitive barnside tests for these pathogens are available, and Veterinarians must depend upon off-site testing procedures that require
from 48 to 72 hours to provide diagnostic guidance to the practitioner.
Outside of its association with SET, New Horizons Diagnostics has developed a product line of highly sensitive lateral flow
diagnostics tests for over 50 analytes, including Cholera, Anthrax, Gonorrhea, Syphilis and numerous bio-warfare agents.
NHD has also developed a unique patented system for the detection of ATP luminescence that is used in water, food and
surface testing worldwide. NHD is a leader in the development of bacteriophage derived lytic enzymes (Lysins) for the
treatment and elimination of numerous human and animal bacterial diseases. Foremost among these is their lysin for the
prevention and elimination of Group A Strep in humans. To date NHD has over 150 patents issued or pending.

BioreclamationIVT
www.bioreclamationivt.com
Today's pharmaceutical companies are challenged to manage the exorbitant costs associated with new drug discovery
and development. The average cost of bringing a new drug to market is estimated at more than $800 million spent over
an average period of 12-15 years. Consequently there is tremendous pressure during lead optimization for companies to
20
identify problems and select the right compounds for further development. The use of in vitro models and methods to
evaluate compounds for Absorption, Distribution, Metabolism, Excretion, and Toxicity (ADME-Tox) properties significantly
decreases the investment required in drug discovery and preclinical development. BioreclamationIVT is the premier world
provider of specialized products and services within the in vitro technologies industry. Since 1990, pharmaceutical and
biotechnology companies have relied on BioreclamationIVT to accelerate their product development efforts through the
use of their quality in vitro products and services for ADME-Tox applications.
The company manufactures high-quality products with large lot sizes to ensure consistent results. Their customers'
research needs are met by both continually improving their current products and enhancing their current product offerings
with new uses and applications. The company also uses these same products in the research services that they conduct
for their CRO clients. BioreclamationIVT’s strongest asset is their scientific and technical team, who serve as an extension
of their customers' R&D departments by offering real-world experience, technical expertise and extensive knowledge of
the regulatory requirements for drug development. By enabling their customers to make the best decisions on their drug
candidates, BioreclamationIVT delivers value by bringing new products to market faster and more cost effectively.

Plant Sensory Systems, LLC. is an agricultural biotechnology company that develops technology to improve crop
performance and alleviate negative environmental impact. They optimize the ability of plants to acquire and utilize
nutrients to increase biomass, yield, and crop quality. One of their areas of research addresses nitrogen use efficiency
(NUE). Increased NUE allows the farmer to decrease the amount of nitrogen-based fertilizer applied to the field without
affecting yield. Reducing nitrogen application will decrease production costs and nitrogen runoff, which detrimentally
affects the environment. Another area of research targets carbon metabolism to increase levels of sugar, oil, and
cellulose, which can be converted into biofuel.
