PART 1 – TRADING CARD: (50 Total per card / 100 Total Points): Create a trading card for
each famous person assigned to you. The information for your card will come from both the textbook
and other research (other published books, magazine articles, and internet sources). Your completed
card must be typed and laminated)
Each trading card must include all of the following information (as a minimum):
FRONT: VISUAL DEPICTION (10 Points per card)
An accurate picture or drawing of the individual.
Full Name and Nickname (ie: Richard I of England was also known as the Lionheart)
Known Lifespan (ie: Born -11 Feb 1235 Death -27 July 1299)
Place of Birth and Death
BACK: BIOGRAPHICAL NARRATIVE (25 Points per card)
Write a brief biographical narrative covering all of the following (as a minimum):
o Full name/Nickname, Place and Date of Birth and Death
o Overview of Early Life/Family Life (Parents, Social Status, Marriage, Children, etc.)
o Overview of any Formal Education / Training / Apprenticeship
o Overview of any Professional Relationships (Teachers, Partners, Patrons, etc. . . . )
o Overview of Greatest Accomplishments/Achievements and/or Failures

During the European Renaissance (between the 14th-17th Centuries), there were numerous Renaissance
men and women who had an impact on changing the known world. Based on your research, compare
and contrast your two Renaissance people, their accomplishments and the impact they had on the
world. What similarities and differences exist between them? How did their accomplishments change
the world at the time and what long term impact did they have on the future?
