A Pre-Baptism Catechetical Session is required for parents. Godparents (Sponsors) must be practicing Catholics and at least 14 years of age. A practicing non-Catholic Christian may act as a witness along with a Catholic Sponsor. RITE OF CHRISTIAN INITIATION OF ADULTS We welcome all unbaptized individuals, friends, family members and neighbors who are not Roman Catholic Christians or those individuals within the Catholic Tradition who may have never received the Sacraments of the Holy Eucharist or Confirmation to participate in our parish program for adult Christian Initiation at this time. This program is also ideal for baptized Christians of other Christian denominations who are interested in learning more about the Catholic Faith. If you know of someone who may wish to experience the richness of our Catholic Faith and who desires to participate fully in the sacramental life of the Church, please contact Barbara Bunag at 732-257-7722. MATRIMONY The Sacrament of Matrimony requires an extensive period of preparation. Contact must be made with a priest at the Parish Center one year in advance. MINISTRY TO THE SICK The Sacrament of the Holy Eucharist and the anointing of the sick is available to our parish sick and shut-ins upon request. Please inform the parish concerning the needs of the sick by calling the Parish Office. If any member of the parish is hospitalized, please notify the Parish Office immediately so that a member of the Pastoral Staff may visit. PLEASE PRAY FOR THE MEMBERS OF OUR PARISH FAMILY WHO ARE SICK AS WELL AS THOSE MEMBERS WHO ARE SERVING IN THE ARMED FORCES Dear Brothers and Sisters The first full month of summer has almost gone and so we are already gearing up for the new academic year. We are still registering students for Saint Bartholomew School and our Religious Education Program. The parish staff is in the process of redesigning our website. Presently we are in the final stages of updating our files and information so that we will be up and running for the new academic year. The new site will be user friendly and will offer links to various parish ministries and societies. In September, I hope to present a program for giving online. Many of our younger members want the opportunity to contribute directly to the parish without having to write a check. Some parishes have already established such programs and I am interested in finding a program that would meet our needs. Enjoy these summer days. In Christ, Fr. Thomas Religious Education Volunteers We welcome you to our program. Working with the youth of the parish is a wonderful opportunity to deepen your faith as you guide young Catholics in their Faith Formation. Catechists, Classroom Aides and help with our programs are always needed! Volunteers are vital for the success of the program.
