Dear Hillcrest Parents,
As you know, our mission at Rancho Solano is to provide the very best education experience for
students — a rigorous, personalized academic curriculum and strong sense of community that help
students develop the character and competitive edge they need to excel in college and beyond. I’m
proud of our accomplishments to date: acceptances to Ivy League and premiere post-secondary
schools, numerous teacher accolades and awards, and sustained momentum with our IB
curriculum.
To fulfill our mission in the future, we are embarking on a strategic planning process that will guide
our school for the next five years.
As part of this process, we have conducted extensive third-party analysis on the education landscape
and market in Phoenix. Through this research and analysis, it became clear that in order for us to
achieve our mission over the next five years, we must align our resources to the changing market
dynamics.
As a result, we’ve made the decision to move all Early Learning and Lower School education to
Greenway and all Middle School and High School education to Ventura. This means that we will
close our Gilbert and Hillcrest campuses at the end of the current school year.
While this is a difficult decision and represents a change for some families, we believe that this is the
right decision for the future of Rancho Solano. This will pave the way for accelerated investment that
continues to build a school recognized for a rigorous, personalized approach to learning, exceptional
student outcomes, as well as state-of-the-art facilities and technology. This also supports our goal of
attracting and retaining the strongest faculty, administration and staff.
We are committed to working with students and families during this transition. We have scheduled
several opportunities in the coming weeks to share our vision for Rancho Solano; tour our Ventura
and Greenway campuses; meet faculty, staff and families; and shadow students. We will also offer
complimentary busing next year to help families continue to be a part of the Rancho Solano
community.
For more information and details on this transition, we’ve scheduled a meeting for the Hillcrest
families on Wednesday, January 8th at 6:30PM. We hope you’ll join us at this meeting.
We appreciate your continued partnership, support and trust and are excited about what the future
holds for Rancho Solano.
Sincerely,
Audrey C. Menard, Ed.D.
