DIRECTIONS TO THE GEORGIA TECH OBSERVATORY
If you are coming from the North on I-85

From I-85N, get off at the 10th/14th/17th Streets Exit (#84).
Stay to the left and go to the 10th/14th exit ramp (on the right).
Go across 14th Street and continue to 10th Street.
Turn right onto 10th Street.
At the fourth traffic light, turn left onto State Street.
State Street ends at a “T” intersection. Continue forward into the Visitor Parking Lot.
The Howey Physics Building is the tall, red-brick building next to the Visitor Parking Lot.
Put sufficient money in the Parking Kiosk – the lot is patrolled all day and night.
If you are coming from the North on I-75

From I-75N, get off at the Howell Mill & Northside Drive Exit (#252).
Turn right onto Northside Drive (the second of the two roads at this exit).
Continue driving past Ikea (on the left) and the Atlanta Waterworks (on the right).
Take a left turn onto 10th Street (at the traffic light).
At the second traffic light, turn right onto State Street.
State Street ends at a “T” intersection. Continue forward into the Visitor Parking Lot.
The Howey Physics Building is the tall, red-brick building next to the Visitor Parking Lot.
Put sufficient money in the Parking Kiosk – the lot is patrolled all day and night.
If you are coming from the South on I-85 or I-75

Go to the fifth traffic light, and turn left onto State Street.

If you are coming from the East or West on I-20

Take I-20 into the city.
Exit North onto I-75/85.
Get off at the 10th/14th Street Exit.
Take a left onto 10th Street at the light at the end of the ramp.

If you are taking MARTA
The Stinger Yellow-Loop Trolley (Georgia Tech's bus service) provides daily transportation to
and from the Midtown MARTA station. The Midtown MARTA Station is at stop N4 on the
North-South line. The Trolley departs from the rear of the station (on Peachtree Place) about
every 10 minutes, depending on whether classes are in session. The Howey Physics Building is
on the Trolley route at the Atlantic Street stop.
