AP Political Science (APPS) - (Combined AP US & Comparative Gov't)
There are no formal APPS reading assignments for the summer. However, the best preparation for the course
is to begin following current events in the 6 countries we study in AP Comparative Politics (APCP):
United Kingdom
Russia
China
Iran
Mexico
Nigeria
And of course for AP US Government, US news both domestic and foreign, along with state and local current
issues.
Mr. Hollenbeck has an APCP Twitter that he uses to send out relevant current events stories and he continues
to do so in the summer months. The Twitter account is EPHS_APCP if your son/daughter is interested.
Otherwise, he recommends The Economist, The Guardian, the BBC and the New York Times. Iran will be
especially interesting in the coming weeks as their presidential election looms.
