Board Spotlight, November 7, 2011 Wayne Early/Middle College High 100% Graduation Rate Would Wayne Early/Middle College High principal, Lee Johnson, and any other representatives from her school please come forward. On Tuesday, October 11, Wayne Early/Middle College High School was one of 23 schools in the state recognized by the North Carolina Department of Public Instruction for having a 100% graduation rate for the 2010-11 school year. The Wayne Early/Middle College High School is unique in that it was specifically designed to offer students the opportunity to attend college classes, while receiving a more personalized education through smaller high school class sizes. Located on the campus of Wayne Community College, the Wayne Early/Middle College High School opened in 2006 with just 63 students. Since then enrollment has grown to over 270 students. Mrs. Johnson, on behalf of the Board, we congratulate Wayne Early/Middle College High School for its achievement. Recognizing that your school has been able to achieve a one hundred percent graduation rate year after year highlights the success of the school, its staff, and its students.
