Below are links to websites that explain a few theories that are mentioned in Book A, Chapter 1,
Lesson 3. There are many theories of where life came from; spontaneous generation,
biogenesis, Oparin’s hypothesis, creationism, big bang, etc…
Assignment:
Browse the websites below. Note what each theory believes the origin of life is, then create
your own theory. The assignment is to create a one page report about your own theory of
where life came from. You may use the below resources for research or scout the internet for
your own. Your paper should include what you believe to be evidence that supports your
theory. Past historical observations and data may be used, as well as existing documents. Save
your document in your science folder with a name such as- origins
References should be cited on a separate page. Font should be 12 pt. If paper is double spaced
then it must be at least two pages in length.
