Health Service is an on-campus outpatient health care center supported through a mandatory student fee. UMM students see
physicians and nursing staff, and receive medical treatment, routine lab tests, immunizations, and some prescription drugs at no
additional cost. Students are also required to provide proof of health/hospitalization insurance or purchase an insurance plan.

The Cougars compete in the Upper Midwest Athletics Conference, a newly forming NCAA Division III conference. One in
five UMM students are involved in Cougar Athletics, with athletes succeeding academically at rates above the student body as
a whole. UMM students attend home Cougar games at no charge (and 70% do).

The Multi-Ethnic Student Program offers an educational and cultural program dedicated to creating a strong, supportive
campus environment for students of color. MSP partners with others on campus to build an inclusive, multicultural

Student Activities coordinates new student orientation and supports UMM’s extra-curricular program: 85 student groups,
student government, community service/volunteer programs, intramurals, the Performing Arts Series and campus events.
