THE INDIAN PAINT ASSOCIATION
A PROFILE
The Indian Paint Association (IPA), affiliated to the Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) is a national body
which represents both the organized and the Small Sector of the paints and coatings industry. It is a voluntary
non-political and non-profit organization which promotes the interests of the paint industry and society. IPA
was founded by amalgamating the former two associations, Indian Paint Manufacturers Association and Paint
st
Federation, on 1 July, 1960. IPA is registered under the Societies Registration Act, XXI of 1860.
The Association strives for the following:
(a) To promote, maintain and advance interests of manufacturers of paints and other allied products.
(b) To provide a forum for exchange of ideas, views, information and recommendation on any problems
faced by manufacturers of paints and allied products in India for all-round development.
(c) To encourage work studies, research activities with the aim of improving the manufacture of paints.
(d) To advance technical know-how used in the manufacture of paints and to disseminate knowledge and
information to the members.
(e) Generally to do all other things and activities which go towards achieving these objectives.
Membership Categories and Eligibility Criteria
Member: A firm engaged in manufacturing in India of Paints, Enamels, Lacquers, Varnishes or any other
materials associated with the production of those commodities, shall be eligible for membership as a
“Member” only.
Associate Member: Distributors/Retailers of Paints, Enamels, Lacquers or Varnishes and all other materials
associated with these products, firm engaged in the manufacture and distribution of resins, pigments, paint
containers, paint machinery or other raw material manufacturers associated with the paint industry, Industries,
Projects, Contracting Companies who use Paints, Enamels, Lacquers, Varnishes and related products to
these, educational and other Institutions imparting or conducting research in Paint Technology, Consultants in
the Paint Industry, Professors, Researchers and Students in Paint and Coatings Technology shall be eligible
to become an Associate Member of the Association.
Membership Rights: Other than Members, Associate Members shall have the right to participate in the
deliberations and discussions of the Chapter or Regional Meetings of the Association but shall have no voting
rights, nor can hold any office of the Association. Associate Members shall not participate in the meetings of
the Governing Body of the Association unless specifically invited by the Governing Body for consultation, but
without voting rights.
Allegiance: It shall be obligatory on the part of Members & Associate Members to abide by and be bound by
the Rules of the Association. The same shall also be a condition precedent to the application for new
membership. No member shall make any public statement or cause any statement to be published without
prior consent of the Governing Body.

CURRENT SUBSCRIPTION DETAILS
MEMBERSHIP FEES
Entrance Fee
The Entrance fee currently for both Members and Associate Members is. 2,000/- This is an
one-time payment which has to be made along with Application Form through a Demand
Draft /cheque payable to The Indian Paint Association at Kolkata.
Annual Membership Fee
The Annual Subscription for each Member and Associate Member is Rs. 3,000/- at present.
Service Tax @ 14.5% on the Annual Membership Fee will be applicable extra.
Mode of Payment
Demand Draft/ Cheque for Rs. 5435/- should be drawn for the relevant amount, payable at
Kolkata in favour of “The Indian Paint Association”.
