The MPS-13-36 is comprised of 12 void pipes and a single white lined distribution pipe.
The system is shipped with two 5-pipe void bundles and a three pipe bundle which has two
void pipes and the distribution pipe. The bands around these bundles give the system
strength and integrity. Place the two five pipe bundles (3 pipes down) next to one another
in the trench. This will create a void area between the two bundles. Cut the bands on the
three pipe bundle only and place the distribution pipe in the center, white line up. Take one
each of the loose void pipes and place it on the outside. This will give you a total of 8 void
pipes on the trench bottom and 4 void pipes located on the top with the single, white lined
distribution pipe nested in the center. Although this 37” wide system will lay flat in a 36”
excavated trench, if one of the end void pipes is slightly elevated it will seat when
backfilled. Where the pipe ends are open to the soil, filter material should be doubled,
tucked under the pipes, and pulled up to cover the openings. The filter is then laid across
the top of the entire system of pipes and allowed to drape down the sides. If there is any
excess of filter material at the sides and trench bottom it should be flared out and held in
place with soil until backfilled.
