Pastor’s Page
From your Grateful Pastor’s Desk:
Movement, growth and development are unmistakable signs of life and
here at OLC things are alive and well. A source of pride and joy for all of
us is the enthusiasm with which our folks have received the new flooring in
our Parish Church. It will endure till the Second Coming of the Lord and
symbolizes our faith’s endurance until He returns!. The lighting also is on
the list for improvement; that this too, I am sure, you will appreciate.
These signs of life are your generosity in action. Your faithful and steady
contributions through the “Deferred Maintenance” envelope or electronic
giving is making this possible. After the mortgages for our Church and
Gathering Place were paid, you will recall the mortgage envelope became
the fund for maintenance. Thanks so much for your support.
We are blessed too that a parishioner has stepped forward to assume a
portion of the current expenditure. Another family is so impressed they
wish to provide a suitable carpet for the altar location. We are profoundly
grateful.
We hope that other folks will be disposed to made a one-time, perhaps an
end-of-year gift to guarantee OLC’s bright future! Shortly we will provide an
envelope in the Bulletin for families disposed to contribute toward OLC’s
bright future. Should you wish to memorialize a loved one, forward us your
name and the name(s) of those you wish to remember. An appropriate
memorial plaque will be erected when ready. Again, thank you for so many
reasons to be appreciative.
P. S.
I will l not be with you today, as I will be in Carroll County celebrating the
Eucharist with our young High School men and women who are on retreat.
They will be there the entire weekend. Remember: one of their number
spoke to us last weekend asking our prayers for the success of the retreat.
Usually the “success” of prayer is experienced inside; also outside when
we’re really lucky! That’s what the “Communion of Saints” is all about.
Have a great week keep praying for them there Ravens!!!

Oak Lodge Update: The first delivery to oak lodge of
the donated shaving cream, waterless shampoo, yarn,
slippers, homemade snacks, sugar free cookies, and wooden
bird houses (to put together and paint) went over great. The
residents, staff and administrator were overwhelmed with
gratitude and appreciation. There were so many happy faces
and spirits were lifted.
If anyone is interested in donating their time to call bingo or
run a craft class for the residents please call Jean and make
arrangements with her (410)439-5643. They look forward to
Bingo and craft day, but don’t always have the staff to call the
