You can take the course if your Chinese is above beginner’s level – that is, your Chinese can be at an elementary or intermediate level. The course is designed for people who have more interest in learning Chinese grammar and characters. While the elementary courses are mainly focused on pinyin and listening/speaking skills, Integrated Chinese is – as its name suggests – a more in-depth, integrated course which trains both your listening/speaking and reading/writing skills with a greater focus on grammar and reading/writing. If you have achieved an intermediate level of competency in oral Chinese but still need to improve your skills in reading/writing, or if you already master a number of Chinese characters and are more interested in improving oral Chinese, you can get practiced and benefit from this course.
