Involve students in Task Design
Task title: Film, music and the role of the media
You write an article for a German youth blog canvassing opinions amongst English
teenagers about your film, music preferences and habits and your view on the media
in general. Your teacher will play the part of the interviewer and will ask you the
following:

Describe your favourite actor/actress and give reasons why you like him/her
Which film did you see last – would you recommend it?
What do you think of Soaps?
How has your taste in music changed?
How does the media/press influence your opinions?
What are the pros and cons of social media (Facebook/Twitter) in your
opinion
Could you imagine working in the media?
Remember, in order to score the highest marks you must answer the task fully,
developing your response where it is appropriate to do so.
Pick any 4 of the 6 sentences and translate them into French in your exercise book.

RELAY GAME
(translation on the board Eng Fr or Fr  Eng, unjumble the words)
2 teams compete against each other. One pupil for each team at the board
translates the first word/sentence then passes the baton – or pen! – to
someone else in the same team and so on.
Can be made as long/hard as needed.
Relies on cooperation, revising work and correcting mistakes.
SPEAKING BINGO
Pupils use all of the boxes during their discussion.
Can be made easier (pupils to use certain words)

They can write English on and fold over then write French or copy
spelling etc. They could write it from memory or get someone else
to test them. Once they have folded all the columns it ends up
looking like a fan.
