Character Education Topic: Review
This is the last week of the year that Mr. Villers will be sending out the
Character Trait email. This week is a review of the different character
traits we have covered this year, which included: Honor, Deference,
Service, Forgiveness, Gratefulness, Obedience, Boldness, Humility,
Justice, Self-Control, and Compassion.
JH/HS Spring Concert & Dessert Silent Auction
The concert, featuring Junior High and High School bands and
choirs, will take place at 7 p.m. in the gym on Tuesday, May 19.
There will be a dessert silent auction in the cafeteria prior
to the concert, which will be a fundraiser for the bands.
Come early to bid on delicious items and support our
band program. *Some of these scrumptious desserts will be
homemade and from unlicensed kitchens.
SC Runners Advance to State
The SC track team participated in the district meet
at Dayton on Friday and Saturday. Freshmen Rebeka
Preston ran away with the district championship in
the 200m and 400m races, leading the girls team to
a 4th place finish. Preston was also a member of the
2nd place 4x400m relay and the 5th place 4x100m
relay teams. Other runners who qualified for state
include: the 2nd place girls 4x400m relay (Haven
Bain, Caitlin Fettig, Tommi Villers, and Preston);
Caitlin Fettig (2nd in 3000m), and Ty Villers (2nd in
110m Hurdles).
The 3A State Meet will be held at Hayward Field on
the University of Oregon campus on May 21-22. See
the OSAA website for spectator information.

in 110m Hurdles, 4th in 300m Hurdles, 5th in 4x400m relay, 7th in
4x100m relay), Kevin Sheng (5th in 4x400m relay, 7th in 4x100m
relay), and Daniel Hudson (5th in 4x400m relay).

senior lunch at Papa’s Pizza.

Senior Celebration
Seniors are required to be at school and
check in with each teacher at the beginning
of each class period. Celebration activities
will take place behind the school.
May 24 - Baccalaureate at Calvary Chapel Corvallis 3p.m. (Senior attendance required. Seniors arrive by
2:30 p.m.)
May 26 - Graduation Practice (8 a.m.-10 a.m.)
(Senior attendance required)
May 30 - Graduation in New Gym (7 p.m.)
Doors open 5:30 p.m.
Graduates meet in the wrestling room
at 6:15 p.m.
Tickets are required for admittance. Except
for your elderly guests and small children, we
ask that you do not save seats for family and
friends.

Driver's License/Permit in Your Future?
If your student will be taking a driver
exam over the summer, he/she will
need to obtain a Statement of
Enrollment form from Mrs. Beam. Be
sure to plan ahead and get it before going to DMV.
Petitions for Athletic Credit
High School students who plan to utilize sports
participation in order to fulfill the high school PE
requirement should be sure to fill out a petition for
athletic credit for the season(s) they participated.
Petitions forms are available in the school office and
online under Forms Central. Completed forms should
be submitted to Mrs. Beam.
SC Ball Player Selected For All-Star Series
Senior Kaylee Buhrkuhl was selected by
the Oregon High School Girl’s Basketball
Coaches Association to play in the year
2015 Senior All-Star Series. The games
will be played on June 19-20 at Corban
University. The All-Star Series is a showcase
for Oregon Girl’s Basketball and offers the
opportunity to play with the best seniors in the
state, make great memories, and develop lasting
friendships.
Kaylee was also selected 3rd team all state by Oregon
3A coaches.
Tractor Safety Class
A tractor safety class will be offered at
SC on June 12 and 13 from 9 a.m. to
3 p.m. in the SC High School Building.

Scrip = Tuition
Purchase gift cards for your favorite stores/restaurants
through SC’s Scrip program. Scrip orders are due on
MONDAY. Orders placed by 8:30 a.m. on the order day will
be filled and returned to you that week by Thursday. For
a copy of the Scrip order form, please click on this Scrip
link. Order forms with payment should be turned in to the

Story Land VBS at Prince of Peace
Prince of Peace Community Church in Adair
(next door to SC) will be hosting Story Land
VBS, a unique program that pairs award
winning picture books and Bible stories to
bridge God's Word and children's everyday lives. This
special VBS will be held June 15-19 and is for those
students who will be going into 1st through 7th
grades.

Building Girl’s Work Crew
The program is free to those students who preregister prior to Wednesday, June 10, 2015. For those
students who register after June 10, the cost is $3.00
per child. To pre-register, or to learn more about Story

Oregon Tradeswomen, Inc. is now recruiting young women for
our Building Girls Work Crew. In this program you will:
• Learn basic construction skills through various building projects
• Take field trips to learn about the construction industry
• Receive financial education, learn resume writing, attend a
self-defense workshop, and a yoga workshop.
• Go on a river canoe trip to learn about environmental issues

Camp Tadmor Summer Camps
Camp Tadmor is hosting a variety of pirate-themed and
wild west summer camps where they share the lifechanging message of Jesus Christ. There are different
camps for students entering grades 3-12. Brochures can

STEM Academy Summer Camps:
STEM Academy is hosting 30 different Science &
Engineering Summer Camps for students entering 3rd 12th grades in the Fall of 2015. Topics include: Computing,
Biochemistry, Engineering, Lego Robotics, Forestry,
Bioinformatics, Ecology, and Marine Genetics.
