Monday:
On Monday, our class will exercise our story comprehension
skills. Premade picture cards of nursery rhymes will be
provided. We will recite a poem to the children several
times encouraging them to say the words along with us. As
we repeatedly say the poem, our class will attempt to find
the correct photo to finish the rhyme. For example – Hey
diddle diddle, the cat (cat card shown) and the__________?
Our class will find the “matching” fiddle.
Tuesday:
On Tuesday, our older infants will pretend to be shepherds.
They will sort their flock of sheep into big and little groups.
Skills – math: size, sorting
Wednesday: Show & Share Day!
Just like “Little Jack Horner,” our class will be making “Plum
Pies.” Using a mini paper plate and brown construction
paper, we will use our thumbs dipped in paint as plums to fill
our pies. Skills - Using supplies/materials, small motor, oral
expression.
Thursday: Share A book Day!
When discussing our letter of the week, we will color an “A is
for Apple” template and talk about other words that start
with the letter A.
Friday:
As mostly visual learners, we will spend some time on Friday
viewing short nursery rhymes and discussing their meanings.
There are so many
nursery rhymes!
 Old Mother
Hubbard
 Humpty Dumpty
 Jack & Jill
 Hey Diddle Diddle
 Little Bo Peep
 Little Jack Horner
We encourage you to
read some of these with
your older infant!
Letter of the Week:
The letter of focus for
this week is Aa. Our
class will be focusing
on these words that
start with Aa:
