Position: Salary: Hours: Reports to: Marketing Director Commensurate with Education/Experience Full-time – 40 hours General Manager Job Summary: Marketing Director is responsible for all activities related to conceptualizing, planning, managing and implementing market goals, strategies, tactics and measurements to achieve marketing targets for Mole Lake Casino Lodge. Specific responsibilities include business and market development; market research and planning; strategic direction for and supervision of promotions, advertising and sales; and hiring and directing the day to day activities of marketing staff. Also includes producing and presenting regular reports to management on achievement of measurable goals in the Marketing plan. Duties: • • • • • • • • Serves as the Marketing Director for Mole Lake Casino Lodge, providing direction in the area of market planning, strategy, and management. Executes and monitors strategic plans, both short and long range, to achieve Casino objectives regarding revenue, profitability, new customer acquisition and customer retention, and increasing brand awareness; by using market research and analysis, tracking industry trends and employing a full array of activities to achieve measurable objectives. Statistically analyze marketing programs and adjusts strategy and tactics to increase effectiveness to meet changing market and competitive conditions. Develop and manage the annual budget according to an approved annual marketing plan; oversee expenses to maintain acceptable margins; review budget reports monthly and revise as necessary. Meet monthly with marketing department staff and Mole Lake Casino Lodge Department Managers to coordinate promotions. Meet annually with Mole Lake Casino Lodge Department Managers and other staff to develop the goals, strategies and tactics for the annual marketing plan, to be followed by monthly meetings with those Managers to review the progress in attaining goals, based on research, sales and guest traffic, and to present new promotions and advertising. Work with Department Managers to create new services, amenities, merchandising, aesthetics, and products that respond to the customers’ needs and desires. Maximize use of players’ club membership list to increase play, length of stay, and visits of targeted members; develop communications plan and identify tiers; coordinate direct mail and email program including monthly newsletter, birthday cards, etc.; provide tickets, VIP passes, and special offers to both Mole Lake Casino Lodge on-site and off-site events and entertainment; develop ideas and coordinate special events for VIPs; measure results of all activities and evaluate; research and modify accordingly. • • • • • • • • • • Supervise research, evaluation, negotiation, scheduling, and contracts for media space, time, location, and promotional packages; measure results, analyze, and modify accordingly. Develop creative strategies as needed, supervise production of print ads, broadcast spots, collateral materials, promotional merchandise, signage (on-site and off), website, internet communications, and billboards; oversee logo usage; contract with and supervise activities of ad agency and/or production houses. As part of the annual budget and planning process determine department staffing needs, create job descriptions, work with HR to recruit and hire skilled staff, ensure training; set performance standards and evaluate regularly, and issue commendations or plans for improvement. Supervise management of web site, including continued development, monitoring web traffic reports and responding to web site inquiries or forwarding as appropriate to Mole Lake Casino Lodge Department Managers and/or General Manager. Supervise department staff who will coordinate regular surveys of players club membership and other guests of the Casino; work with outside research firms to collect and analyze primary data from the target market area; and collect competitive and secondary industry research and use where applicable, all of which is to be used in producing and/or modifying the annual marketing plan. Supervise staff that will identify entertainment and special events that target our market to achieve strategic goals; monitor promotion, production, and post-event activities; collect necessary data to evaluate success, make changes as necessary to maximize revenues and profitability. Ensure that marketing inventory and promotional materials are acquired and maintained in an organized and efficient manner. Keep staff informed about marketing activities through marketing, manager meetings, employee promotions, and educational presentations. Ensure productive relations with media, industry executives, and government and tribal officials. Other related functions as assigned. Qualifications: • • • • • • • • • • Bachelor’s degree and five (5) years of casino marketing management experience with direct responsibility for advertising, sales, promotions, database marketing, public relations, special event planning and execution, and players’ club operational strategies. Demonstrate understanding of the principles and facets of marketing. Marketing financial management skills to plan execute and measure results. Strong communication skills: professional and effective verbal, written and interpersonal skills and abilities required. Must be computer literate in word processing, spreadsheets, database, email and the internet. Physically able to work/sit for long periods at work/computer station and perform repetitive motion of arms, wrist and fingers; and at times, move throughout a smoke filled environment. Must be able to pass a background investigation and able to obtain a Sokaogon Gaming License. Submit to and pass a drug and alcohol test. Must be able to take and pass a Title 31 Compliance test within first 30 days of hire. Successfully complete a 90 day probationary period. • • Must be at least 21 years of age.
