Purdy students to present play Nov. 13, 14 Arvest, Cassville donate to food pantry

According to Purdy Vocal Music Director Lauren
Lee, two evening performances are scheduled, with
opening night on Friday,
November 13, and an encore
performance on Saturday,
November 14. Both performances will be held in the
Purdy Elementary Gym at 7
p.m., and admission is free.
Lee noted, “Where’s Charley
offers audience members of
all ages a prime opportunity
to stroll through a straightlaced, yet simple time of
college romance. Join us
for side-splitting comic encounters, as well as tender
moments that will leave you
longing for the thrill that
only young love can bring.”

the stage as Charley Wykeham, in Purdy High School’s
production of the hit Broadway musical “Where’s Charley?”, a musical glimpse
of Victorian social lunacy
played out on a college
campus. Joined by co-stars
Gannon Clevenger, Katie
Real, Mikala Fletcher and a
troupe of talented supporting cast members, Propps
promises a rollicking adventure on the 1892 Oxford
University Campus. “My
character, Charley, and his
roommate, Jack Chesney,
find themselves in a bit of a
pickle when Charley’s Brazilian aunt, Donna Lucia,
fails to show up for a visit
and a chaperone gig for a
lunch date with our love interests. Charley takes one for
the team and dons a dress
to pose as his aunt so the
party can go on as planned.
In an initiative to help the Cassville Community Food Pantry, Arvest Bank offered up a pizza party
to the class in the Cassville Middle School who brought the most non-perishable food items to donate
to the pantry. The winning class
was Mrs. Ketchum’s 7th grade
math class.
