Many students and I have changed our minds a few times. So do not stress! Take it easy, work hard, and challenge yourself. Most of all: GET INVOLVED. It’s definitely helped me make lasting friendships and create an overall rewarding educational experience here at KPU. E xplore, explore, explore. There are a bazillion ways to be involved on campus. Find your thing! This is your best way to make really amazing friends and engage in truly exciting experiences. University is a time to grow and change. Leave that comfort bubble to test your limits and find what you love to do. I did, by joining the orientation leadership team, student leadership conference, dragon boating…you get the picture. Remember we all— students, faculty and staff—are in a community engaging the mind and whole person; get the most out of it! Jacqueline Nobauer, BBA in Human Resources Management Student, Langley Campus Orientation Captain Y our time at university should be filled with fun and new experiences. But you won’t get the chance to experience all KPU has to offer unless you go out and volunteer, join a club or team, just get together with people who have the similar interests. I started my KPU experience coming to campus for class and heading straight home. Now that I’ve started volunteering, I am meeting tonnes of new people, attending interesting events, and gaining experience in my degree field outside the classroom. I am excited to come to KPU, even when I don’t have class! Make the most of your KPU experience. Parking at KPU is managed by Impark—if you have questions, please contact them at 604.420.6446 or Impark’s Violation Dispute phone line at 604.909.3933 or impark.com. 19 FREQUENTLY ASKED PARKING QUESTIONS What is the difference between reserved and unreserved parking? KPU parking is first come, first served. If reserved parking is full, reserved permit holders can find parking in the unreserved parking areas. Unreserved pass holders, however, can only park in unreserved parking or the overflow parking at the Newton Athletics Park. Are parking permits valid on all campuses? Yes, you can use the same permit on all our campuses. If I purchase a day pass is it valid on all campuses? CAMPUS INFORMATION Yes, you can use the same pass on all our campuses until it expires for that day. If I purchase a day pass, leave and come back and am unable to get the same stall number, do I have to buy a different day pass? No, you do not need to purchase another pass as long as you place the day pass receipt face up on your dash. Don’t forget to ensure the pass is still valid. How many people are needed to qualify for the carpool permit? Two people must arrive at the campus in the same vehicle for a carpool permit to be valid. If I have a Disabled Persons’ Parking (SPARC) permit, do I still have to purchase a parking permit? No, as long as your SPARC permit is valid, we don’t require you to purchase a parking permit. Where can I park if I have a SPARC permit? SPARC pass holders can park in the disabled parking stalls for free with their permits. They are expected to pay, however, if they’re not parked in a designated spot. In other words, it’s the designated stall that is free—not the pass, and the pass is not transferable to other parking stalls. 20 What happens if all the parking is full on the KPU Surrey Campus? On the rare occasion that all parking spaces are full at the Surrey Campus, there is free overflow parking available at the Newton Athletics Park on 128 Street one block north of 72nd Avenue. Check out: kpu.ca/supply/park_transit/overflow for more information. Where are the electric/hybrid parking stalls? KPU Surrey and Cloverdale campuses have a number of designated parking stalls for electric and hybrid vehicles: ◊ Surrey campus parking stall numbers: 862, 863, 864, 865, 866. ◊ Cloverdale campus parking stall numbers: 146, 147. Regular parking rates still apply. What do I do if I lose or misplace my parking permit tag? Please call Impark at 604.420.6446 extension 0. ONLINE LEARNING: ONLINE OR PARTIALLY ONLINE COURSES Partially online courses are designed to replace some classroom time. Each course instructor will design the online component in a unique way, for instance an instructor might choose to replace one two-hour block in the week with online work, and another might choose to replace several weeks of the semester with online work. Fully online courses are offered in many disciplines and departments. Some require in-person attendance for orientation or for exams and all develop interactivity among students and instructors in online environments. Students can do well in online courses, but those who have the most success are self-directed and motivated. 24 Students can access their partially or fully online course anywhere there is a reliable Internet connection—a dial-up connection is not advised, however. Online courses are listed in the current timetable. After students have registered for a partially or fully online course they should log onto the myKwantlen student portal and click on the “My Courses” tab to access their course sites. ONLINE TOOLS FOR ALL COURSES Many instructions choose to use online tools to support face-to-face classes. If an instructor has set up a website for a course, it will be available to students from their “My Courses” page in myKwantlen. Moodle (Kwantlen Online Courses) Moodle is an open-source system for delivering fully and partially online courses. GPA Definitions ◊ Quality Points: A value determined for each course by multiplying the course credit hours by the grade points for the assigned grade. ◊ Grade Point Average (GPA): The average of total quality points divided by the total semester credit hours. 32 ◊ Term GPA (TGPA): The grade point average of all KPU coursework completed in a specific semester. ◊ Cumulative GPA (CGPA): The grade point average of all coursework completed at KPU for which a letter grade was assigned. For repeated courses, only the higher grade is used in this calculation. ◊ Program GPA (PGPA): The GPA for all coursework applicable to a specific program. This is used when determining eligibility for graduation and whether a student has graduated “With Distinction.” What is a “GPA”? GPA refers to grade point average. Each letter grade is assigned a point value which is called the grade point. The GPA is the average of the grade points of the courses you have taken and it is a function of the number of credits each course carries. For example, to calculate the GPA of a 3-credit course with an A and a 5-credit course with a C+, you would do the following calculation: Letter Grade Grade Point Credits Quality Points A 4.0 3 12.0 C+ 2.33 5 11.65 Total: 8 23.65 REGISTRATION AND COURSE PLANNING You then divide the total Quality Points by the total number of credits: 23.65 Quality Points 8 credits = 2.96 GPA Your transcript will show two different grade point averages. The term GPA is the point average of your grades over one semester. The cumulative GPA is the point average of your grades over all the academic courses you may ever have taken at KPU. 33 34 STUDENT resources 35 ALUMNI NETWORK kpu.ca/alumni | alumni@kpu.ca | 604.599.3003 KPU graduates are considered an alumnus and can continue a lifetime connection to the University and fellow alumni. Unlike high school, university requires that students spend much more time studying outside of class. In fact, the recommended ratio is two to three hours of study time for every hour in class! Keeping up with your assigned work is crucial because once it piles up and you get too far behind, it’s almost impossible to catch up. Many students pinpoint falling behind as the largest factor contributing to their failure. KEYS TO SUCCESS How do you balance it all? There’s nothing magical about time management. It just take planning and self-discipline. Use schedules to stay on top of it all ◊ Use a semester schedule—The bigger, the better! Write in all your assignments, midterms, finals etc., so that you can be aware of what’s coming up. ◊ Use a weekly schedule—The Kwantlen Student Association produces day planners that can be used to plan out your week. ◊ Use a daily schedule—Start with what you MUST do. Be realistic about what you can achieve. ◊ Prioritize your daily “to do” list Rank each item in order of importance, then stick to your list! For example…. 62 MUST DO SHOULD DO IF TIME ALLOWS... 1 Study for Pschology test Start English paper 2 Read Ch. 2 and Go to 3 of Biology yoga class 3 Buy groceries Watch TV Update Facebook Stop procrastinating! If you understand the basics of time management but still find yourself falling behind, your problem might be better described as procrastination. Procrastination is the avoidance of a specific task that needs to be accomplished. For more on time management or procrastination seminars, please visit our website: kpu.ca/counselling/academic/study_seminars.html Tips for becoming time-wise… ◊ Schedule regular study periods. Do this now! ◊ Learn to say no and thin out your schedule. ◊ Use your class time well—attend, listen well, take quality notes. ◊ Start projects as soon as they are assigned. ◊ Divide each task into small, manageable chunks. ◊ Use your best time well—not a morning person? Schedule your study times for later in the day. KEYS TO SUCCESS ◊ Study on campus—you may be less likely to get distracted ◊ Turn off the television, computer, and phone. ◊ Consolidate tasks—Return phone calls during specific time period rather responding each time it rings. Combine errands into one trip. ◊ Seek balance—it’s important to balance a variety of leisure and other activates with your studies. You may find that you need a bit more help or a different approach. Consider dropping into the Learning Centres for workshops on time management, and make an appointment with a Counsellor for further support. Sources: Fraser, L. (1996). Advice from Other Students What would KPU students do differently the next time around? ◊ Choose courses more wisely. ◊ Go to as many program information sessions as possible. 63 ◊ Keep up with reading, meet people and study with them. Study daily and don’t leave thing until the end. ◊ Talk to a counsellor earlier and attend more workshops. ◊ Do the absolute best in every class even if they didn’t enjoy it. ◊ Concentrate more on the class lectures, narrowing down the amount of work to be covered in the textbook. ◊ Make a semester schedule, study constructively, complete assignments on time, prepare well for all exams in advance. KEYS TO SUCCESS ◊ Seek the assistance of instructors for help understanding material or concepts. ◊ Visit the KPU Learning Centre for help. ◊ Increase overall English skills. Consider the English 1099 course. ◊ Take EDUC 1100, it will help to prepare you properly. ◊ Think clearly. Realize that the grade point average (GPA) you earn this semester will stay with you for life. Very often, students only get serious after a year of study, and then regret low grades resulting from partying in their first year. ACADEMIC AND CAREER PREP DEPARTMENT kpu.ca/aca/acp Need prerequisites for your program? Want to upgrade your English, math or science skills? KPU’s Academic and Career Prep Department (ACP) provides academic pathways to success for new students heading into university and career studies. ◊ Students can meet English, math, and science university thresholds by taking ACP's Qualifying Studies courses. ◊ ACP's small class sizes enhance the student learning experience. ◊ ACP’s personalized assessments assist students with course planning. ◊ Many ACP courses are tuition-free (some student fees still apply). 64 ◊ ACP’s courses are offered in two modes: • Semester-based courses offered days and evenings in the fall, spring and summer semesters. • Individually-paced courses offered year-round. Students may begin any time (space permitting). Students can attend these courses quarter-time, halftime or full-time (24 hours per week). • Check out sample ACP courses at the above link. TRANSFERABLE (REFER TO TRANSFER GUIDE ) bctransferguide.ca/ KEYS TO SUCCESS EARLY ALERT PROGRAM kpu.ca/earlyalert The Early Alert program is an online service that enables instructors to identify students who may be struggling in a course. The system provides students with an opportunity for additional help early in the semester so that small problems don’t turn into bigger ones. Not all instructors use the Early Alert system, but those who do will often talk about the program at the start of the semester and will usually speak with a student directly before referring them to Early Alert. Students are then contacted by a student services representative, usually an educational advisor, for further discussion and potential referrals for additional help from departments such as the Learning Centre, Financial Awards and Counselling Services. Our students matter and the Early Alert program is one more way KPU cares. 70 71 KPU is committed to providing a safe environment respectful of the rights, responsibilities, well-being and dignity of all its members. As a student here, you can expect to be a part of a respectful, engaging, collaborative, creative and innovative environment. Our policies and procedures ensure all members of the University community can benefit from its core values. KPU takes reasonable steps to ensure its students are aware of their rights and responsibilities. 72 STUDENT RIGHTS and RESPONSIBILITIES 73 STUDENT RIGHTS judicialaffairs@kpu.ca | 604.599.3344 Every student has a right to … ◊ Pursue education in an environment that is safe, secure and conducive to learning. ◊ Not to be subjected to harassment, sexual harassment, bullying or discrimination, indignity, injury or violence. STUDENT RIGHTS AND RESPONSIBILITIES ◊ Free inquiry, expression, belief, political association and assembly, provided they do not interfere with the rights of others, with the effective operation of the University or violate other University policies and procedures. ◊ Due process and procedural fairness in any investigation of allegedly improper student conduct or alleged violations of policy. ◊ Protection of privacy consistent with University policy and existing privacy legislation. ◊ Be informed of the content and requirements of their courses and programs. ◊ Reasonable and legitimate access to the University’s buildings and facilities. ◊ Reasonable access to statements of policies, procedures and guidelines of the University and student organizations. ◊ Form clubs and committees through the KPU Student Association and to associate with other organizations to promote common interests. ◊ A responsible student press independent of university structure. STUDENT RESPONSIBILITIES Along with rights come certain responsibilities. Academic and non-academic integrity are inherent in student responsibilities. KPU students are responsible for … ◊ Acting consistently with the values of the University community (kpu.ca/mission/mission-mandate) and to obey local, provincial and federal laws. 74 ◊ Abiding by all KPU policies found at kpu.ca/policies. ◊ Exercising their freedoms with honesty, integrity, and respect for the principles of justice, equality and human rights. ◊ Contributing to making KPU safe, respectful and inclusive. Students must refrain from conduct that threatens or endangers the health, safety, well-being or dignity of any person. ◊ Their actions, whether acting individually or in a group. Students have an obligation to make legal and responsible decisions concerning their conduct and to model and convey KPU’s expectations of conduct to their guests. ◊ Resolving academic and personal problems by communicating with the appropriate University personnel. ◊ Keeping the University informed of their current mailing address and any change of name. ◊ Observing and obeying all health and safety procedures outlined for classrooms, laboratories, field trips and practicums. STUDENT RIGHTS AND RESPONSIBILITIES ◊ Becoming familiar with course outlines, content, evaluation methods, timelines and methodology. ◊ Reading their email as directed to their Universityassigned email account and for responsible use of technology. Students are reminded that images, postings, dialogues and information about themselves or others posted on the Internet are public information. While University officials do not actively monitor these sites, content that is brought to the attention of the University that describes or documents behaviour that reasonably suggests breach of KPU policy, is subject to further investigation. The University reserves the right to appropriately respond to these incidents, which may include disciplinary action. The Office of Student Risk and Judicial Affairs can assist students with issues arising out of Student’s Rights and Responsibilities. 75 POLICIES kpu.ca/policies DI S C L A I M E R : This section is for basic information purpose only; up-to-date policies can be found at kpu.ca/policies Like all public, post-secondary institutions, KPU has developed a number of policies to run as smoothly, fairly and consistently as possible. We expect our students to take responsibility for learning about policies to avoid unexpected, negative outcomes. STUDENT RIGHTS AND RESPONSIBILITIES Below is a very brief summary of some of the policies that are most relevant to students, but it is not meant to replace a careful reading of the full policies, which are available online at the link above. In the event of a disagreement between this summary and the official policy manual, the policy manual always takes precedence. You can also contact Counselling Services on any campus for more information. SERVICES FOR STUDENTS WITH DISABILITIES (C36, C37) Under the Canadian Charter of Rights and Freedoms and the BC Human Rights Code, KPU has the responsibility to accommodate the needs of students with disabilities to provide equal learning and physical access. There is a wide range of accommodations available, which may include adaptive equipment and assistive technology, alternate-format texts for students with visual impairments, oral and sign language interpreters for students who are deaf, and exam accommodations for those with specific learning disabilities. Students' confidentiality is scrupulously guarded (C4). For more information, see the Services for Students with Disabilities website. ATTENDANCE AND ACADEMIC PERFORMANCE (B2, B7, C20, L7) KPU expects its students to attend classes regularly, to be punctual and to show a satisfactory level of performance and rate of progress (B2) in their programs. Students in university studies and career programs where letter grades are assigned, are expected to maintain a 76 minimum standard of academic achievement, usually a grade point average (GPA) of 2.00—a "C" average (B7). KPU places students who do not maintain this average, first on academic warning, then, if their grades do not improve, on academic probation (L7). Students placed on academic probation are the last to register for courses, reducing their options for course selection. If the grades of students on academic probation do not sufficiently improve, students can be required to withdraw, meaning that they are involuntarily withdrawn from KPU and must sit out six months—two semesters. Students who are required to withdraw must complete an educational plan and state, in writing, why they believe KPU should re-admit them. Finally, students who still do not meet the minimum academic standards after being re-admitted can be placed on academic suspension, for a minimum of one year. For more detailed information, see the academic probation information at: kpu.ca/counselling/academic/academic_probation. Some programs at KPU, such as those in the trades area, are set up to simulate a workplace environment, and regular attendance in these programs is especially crucial (B2). Keeping in touch with instructors is very important. If a student does not attend class for three consecutive instructional days without notifying the instructor before or during that period, the student can be withdrawn from the course or program or given a failing grade. When students in these programs are missing too many days of class, are arriving late or leaving early, or are not making reasonable progress, they will be required to undertake a performance contract. This is an agreement made between the student and the instructor outlining the conditions under which the student is permitted to continue attending. Students who do not meet the terms of a performance contract can be withdrawn from the course or program involved. STUDENT RIGHTS AND RESPONSIBILITIES KPU offers a range of services to help students who are placed on academic probation or on a performance contract to restore their good academic standing or— even better—to avoid the problem in the first place. For a comprehensive overview of these services, visit the Student Life and Development Student Success Centre. 77 APPEALS AND COMPLAINTS (C6, L6) kpu.ca/counselling/academic/appeals_complaints Students have the right to appeal most academic or administrative decisions made by a KPU employee, including grades on an individual assignment, test or for an entire course, when they believe that policies have not been properly followed or grading has been unfair (L6). In addition, students have the right to voice their concerns about instructors or other KPU employees, services or students, but anonymous complaints are not considered (C6). With both appeals and complaints, the other person involved is always notified. STUDENT RIGHTS AND RESPONSIBILITIES For academic appeals that are not grade-related, the first step is to attempt to achieve an informal resolution directly with the staff or faculty member involved. If that outcome is unsatisfactory, the second step is for students to submit an appeal form and letter within 20 working days from the date of the decision being appealed to Enrolment and Registrar Services, stating their case and the desired outcome. At this stage, the office will review the appeal and either grant or deny it. If the appeal is denied, students can ask the Appeals Committee— which is composed of a student, a faculty member, an administrator, and the Dean of Qualifying Studies and Student Services (who does not vote)—to consider their case. If the student is still unhappy with the committee's decision, the final step is to take the appeal to the Vice-President, Administration and Student Services, for consideration. For grade appeals, the first step is to attempt to resolve the situation with the instructor who assigned the grade. If this fails, the next step is to submit an appeal form to Enrolment and Registrar Services within 20 working days of receiving the grade. The Dean responsible for the course will review the appeal, and will either make the decision about the grade on his or her own, or arrange for the student's work to be re-marked by two other instructors. When students are unhappy with the Dean's decision, they can ask the Appeals Committee and then the Vice President, Academics, to review it, but only when they believe the grade appeal process itself has not been properly followed. 78 For complaints, the first step is to attempt an informal resolution directly with the employee or other student involved. If that outcome is not satisfactory, the complaint must be put in writing and will be forwarded to the appropriate administrator, usually the Dean responsible for the staff or faculty member involved. The Dean will informally attempt resolution. If that is unsuccessful, the Dean or another administrator will formally investigate. If the student is still unhappy, the final step is to take the complaint to the Vice-President, Academics, and then, to the President. For further information and support on both appeals and complaints, contact a counsellor, or see the appeals and complaints information at the link above. PLAGIARISM AND CHEATING (C8) kpu.ca/counselling/academic/policy_summary KPU takes plagiarism and cheating very seriously. Students who cheat or plagiarize and are caught will be disciplined, and the penalty can range from receiving a grade of zero on the test or assignment in question, to failing the course involved, to being suspended. STUDENT RIGHTS AND RESPONSIBILITIES Students who help other students cheat or plagiarize can also be disciplined. Students who are accused of plagiarism or cheating have the right to consult with a counsellor or the KPU Student Association's Ombudsperson, but we urge them to avoid the problem in the first place by consulting with their instructors about what constitutes plagiarism and cheating. For further information on this policy and examples of what constitutes plagiarism and cheating, see the brochure “Understanding Academic Honesty.” STUDENT CONDUCT, HARASSMENT AND VIOLENCE (C21, C41, F1, G2, G23) KPU is committed to creating a University community that embraces civility, mutual respect, diversity, free inquiry, individual safety and freedom from harassment and discrimination. As such, all members of the University community are expected to behave in a manner that reflects these values. KPU is committed to investigate all allegations of misconduct. Students who 79 have been found responsible for incidents of misconduct will be given educational, empowering and restorative opportunities to address the misconduct using the lowest level of meaningful sanctions. Sanctions are considered on an individual basis and may include, but are not limited to, a warning letter, a reprimand letter, community service, a temporary suspension or permanent expulsion (C21, G23, F1). STUDENT RIGHTS AND RESPONSIBILITIES Discrimination is broadly defined as any action that singles out an individual or group for unfair treatment, as per the BC Human Rights Code, and includes sexual harassment. If you believe you are being discriminated against or sexually harassed, whether by another student or a staff or faculty member, contact a counsellor, who can explain the process further and provide emotional support. You can also go directly to the Office of Regulatory Affairs with your written complaint. This office will decide how to proceed. INFORMATION AND EDUCATIONAL TECHNOLOGY USAGE (D1) The user bears the primary responsibility for the material that he or she chooses to access, send or display. This means that, while using KPU computers or myKwantlen, you must not view or distribute pornography or other potentially offensive materials (G2, C21), send chain or spam emails, download files that could crash or damage KPU's system, hack into places you aren't supposed to be, compromise other people's privacy (C4) or violate copyright rules (C19). If you are even the tiniest bit unsure of whether it's okay to do something online—don't do it. Consequences of violating the usage guidelines may include suspension of computer privileges and other disciplinary actions. Serious violations like hacking may also result in criminal charges. 80 WITHDRAWALS AND REFUNDS (C34, C39) kpu.ca/counselling/academic/compassionate_withdrawal When students decide to withdraw from courses or programs, they must officially do so through web registration or at Enrolment and Registrar Services by the withdrawal deadline posted in the calendar—roughly half way through the semester. Simply not attending classes does not equal withdrawing, and can result in a failing grade on the student's permanent transcript. KPU understands that, occasionally, students may not be able to complete programs or courses due to family, medical or emotional problems. In these cases, students will be treated with compassion and every effort will be made for them to complete their studies (C34). If the problems are short-term in nature, students may request extensions, incomplete grades (C20) or other considerations from their instructors. Students with longer-term issues may request a complete withdrawal on compassionate grounds, provided they notify KPU quickly, were in good academic standing when the problem developed and have not attempted to complete course requirements (i.e. have not written the final exam or handed in the final assignment). STUDENT RIGHTS AND RESPONSIBILITIES For more information, students may contact a counsellor or see the Compassionate Withdrawal information on the website listed above. For fixed term or semester-based programs, refunds— usually 70 percent of tuition fees—can normally only be provided if students withdraw during the first week of classes (C39). A student who withdraws from a program or course after the first week of classes is usually not entitled to a refund, because KPU cannot resell a seat to another student after this time. With continuous intake programs, refunds are given for full months paid for but not used. If students strongly believe an exception to the refund policy should be made based on extenuating circumstances, they can submit a variance form to Enrolment and Registrar Services, along with an explanation and supporting documentation. If students are not satisfied with the decision at this level, they can appeal to the Associate Vice President, Finance. 81 CONFIDENTIALITY (C4) KPU views all its students as adults, even those who are not yet 19 years of age. Therefore, any information obtained from students as part of the application and registration process is confidential, as are the student's academic records and counselling and advising files (C4). When students want KPU to release information directly to someone else, including their parents, they must indicate this in writing. STUDENT RIGHTS AND RESPONSIBILITIES There are only a few exceptions to this rule: firstly, when KPU is bound by law to provide the requested information, it will do so. Secondly, when students are perceived to be a clear danger to themselves or others, safety concerns will override confidentiality. Thirdly, in the case of students who are financially sponsored by a government agency, when they withdraw or are withdrawn from a program, the sponsor(s) may be notified of the withdrawal. Fourthly, Kwantlen will release some information to specific agencies, as outlined in the declaration section of the admission application. As a Kwantlen student, it is up to you to learn about your rights and responsibilities—counsellors, instructors, staff members and the KPU Student Association's Ombudsperson can help. Don't hesitate to ask questions about policies. 82 CONTACT Student Enrolment Services kpu.ca/admission studentinfo@kpu.ca 604.599.2000 Counselling Services kpu.ca/counselling counsell@kpu.ca 604.599.2044 (Surrey) 604.599.2600 (Richmond) 604.599.3213 (Langley) 604.598.6044 (Cloverdale) KPU Student Association Ombudsperson kusa.ca Office of Student Risk and Judicial Affairs kpu.ca/sja judicialaffairs@kpu.ca 604.599.3344 STUDENT RIGHTS AND RESPONSIBILITIES 83 ALUMNI COUSELLING (LANGLEY) 604.599.3137 alumni@kpu.ca 604.599.3213 counsell@kpu.ca ASSESSMENT & TESTING COUNSELLING (RICHMOND) ATHLETICS COUNSELLLING (SURREY) BOOKSTORE (SURREY) DISABILITY ADVISORS BOOKSTORE (RICHMOND) EDUCATIONAL ADVISING 604.599.2368 testing@kpu.ca 604.599.2980 athletics@kpu.ca DEPARTMENT CONTACTS 604.599.2353 604.599.2511 BOOKSTORE (LANGLEY) 604.599.3220 604.599.2044 counsell@kpu.ca 604.599.2226 604.599.2000 advising@kpu.ca FIRST NATIONS COORDINATOR BOOKSTORE (CLOVERDALE) 604.599.2269 darlene.willier@kpu.ca CAREER SERVICES FIRST CHOICE INT’L PLACEMENTS CLASS CANCELLATIONS IET CO.OP EDUCATION INTERNATIONAL ADVISING 604.598.6020 604.599.3401 careers@kpu.ca 604.599.2100 then press”*” key 604.599.2465 co.op@kpu.ca COUNSELLING (CLOVERDALE) 604.598.6044 counsell@kpu.ca 84 604.599.2600 counsell@kpu.ca 604.984.0868 info@fciplacement.com 604.599.2116 servicedesk@kpu.ca 604.599.2000 INTERNATIONAL LIAISON OFFICE 604.599.2255 internationalprograms @kpu.ca KWANTLEN STUDENT ASSOCIATION STUDENT ENROLLMENT SERVICES LEARNING CENTRE (SURREY) STUDENT HEALTH & DENTAL PLAN 604.599.2126 kusa.ca 604.599.2437 tlcsurrey@kpu.ca LEARNING CENTRE (RICHMOND) 604.599.2577 tlcrichmond@kwanlen.ca LEARNING CENTRE (LANGLEY) 604.599.2000 kpu.ca/ses 604.599.2431 STUDENT LEADERSHIP & DEVELOPMENT 604.599.2415 sld@kpu.ca DEPARTMENT CONTACTS 604.599.3444 tlclangley@kpu.ca OFFICE OF NEW STUDENT PROGRAMS study@kpu.ca PARKING INFORMATION 604.599.2060 parking@kpu.ca RECREATION 604.599.2307 recreation@kpu.ca STUDENT AWARDS & FINANCIAL SERVICES 604.599.2000 finauxial@kpu.ca 85 ACADEMIC CALENDAR GRADES kpu.ca/calendar Online Self Service: https://bweb.kpu.ca ACADEMIC STANDING kpu.ca/calendar/ generalinfo/regulations HEALTH & DENTAL PROGRAM ACADEMIC SUPPORT IMPORTANT DATES kpu.ca/learningcentres kpu.ca/library kpu.ca/counselling QUESTIONS?
