Academic Advisement

One Year students are not assigned to a
specific academic advisor. You are encouraged
to set up an appointment to meet with a
chair/asst chair to review your DARS.

Always bring your Degree Audit (DARS) with
you. This is your guide from semester to
semester.

You MUST complete any outstanding MA (math)
requirement and EN 121 (English Composition)
before you can be admitted into the BS degree
program.
Academic Advisement

One-on-one advisement is available with an
FMM advisor during the day or during
evening hours.

Always bring your degree audit (DARS) with
you to any and all advisement sessions!
If you plan to apply to the Bachelor’s Degree Program,
you must also complete the following pre-requisites:

MG153: Excel for Business
 This, or the equivalent, must be completed prior to taking
Information Systems Case Analysis (MG 306)

SS141: Macroeconomics
 This must be completed prior to taking Microeconomics (SS
242)
MA222: Statistics
 This or the equivalent, must be completed prior to taking
Data Analysis for Business Applications (MA 321)

Algebra Proficiency:
 This must be provided prior to taking Data Analysis for
Business Applications (MA 321)


Must be planned semester before scheduling-attend
mandatory meetings. Check the Internship website for

Second semester Max. credit load recommendation: 17
Credits including internship…try to increase first semester
credit load.
Grades

Students MUST maintain a 2.0 GPA
Falling below 2.0 puts students on Probationary Warning
and can lead to dismissal

Students have up to 6 weeks to withdraw from a class--tuition penalties may apply; follow appropriate guidelines to
withdraw officially from classes…notify your professor

Grades of “Incomplete” are calculated as an “F” until
completed….make up exams offered the following
semester: Fee $25. If the make-up exam is not taken the
following semester the “IN” grade becomes a permanent
“F” grade and the course will need to be repeated.
Graduation Requirements

FIT’s graduation ceremony is held in May

Students must maintain a minimum GPA of 2.0 to receive a
degree

Students must complete a minimum or 33.5 credits in
residence at FIT

All FMM / FIT requirements must be met (1 major elective &
one related area elective)….no exceptions

The “Request to Graduate” form must be completed ($30
bursar fee); this form is available online. This MUST be filed
before access to the BS application is granted.
Applying to Bachelor’s Program

Applications are available online. You must reapply if interested.
(There is a fee but no essay is required)

Applications should be filed by the end of spring
semester but no later than October 1, 2013 for
Spring 2014.
