One of the highlights of the convention was the presentation of
plaques of appreciation to Duncan and Irving L. Diamond, publisher of the Arizona Beverage
Journal. Duncan, who has established an unparallelled record
of 30 years' service as head of
the state liquor department, was
cited for his loyal and distinguished se r vice to the State of
Arizona. Diamond, who has published the industry trade magazine for the past 26 years, was
lauded for his outstanding Service to the industry.

president for five years, has
been elected president of Selec tive Life Insurance Company. He

was named vice chairman of the
board. 'Shareholders of Selective

Public Library at the Yarnell
School with the backing of the Extension Library of Phoenix. Open
House was held Sunday afternoon.
The Library will be open every

ON ASC CAMPUS
The Arizona State College Rodeo Club has set April 28-May
5 as Western Week on the ASC
campus, with the annual spring
rodeo on Saturday and Sunday,
May 4- 5.
Climax of Western Week will
be a dance in the National Guard
Armory in Flagstaff, featuring
Hank Thompson and his Brazos
Valley Boys Friday and Saturday evening, May 3 4,
The ASC Rodeo will be under
the sanction of the National Intercollegiate Rodeo Association
for the first time this year.
Events scheduled for Western
Week at ASC include a Rodeo

climbing contest, men and women's roping contest, a dress

A parade through downtown
Flagstaff will officially open the
two-day rodeo at the Pow-Wow
