Each group will select a business that they will be (theoretically) putting online. The group project will involve building a Web site that will address questions involved in getting an online business up and running. At the end of the term you will be doing a presentation of your Web site and explain the issues address. Each week you will be responsible for reporting what work you personally did on the group project. You will be given a grade on this report that will then be included in your grade for the group project. Your weekly report will not be accepted after the due date. Late Submission Policy: o Preclass Surveys will not be accepted after due dates. o Group Project Weekly Reports will not be accepted after due dates. o Work that is submitted 1 – 2 calendar days AFTER its due date will be reduced by 5%. o Work that is submitted 3 – 6 calendar days AFTER its due date will be reduced by 10%. o Work that is submitted 7 – 14 calendar days AFTER it due dated will be reduced by 20%. o Work that is more than 14 days late may only be submitted with my approval. I am not required to accept any work which is more than two weeks late. o All work must be turned in no later than December 11th. Anything submitted after that date will not be included in the student’s final grade. Please submit all assignments by attaching them to the appropriate assignment post. Understand that your work may be seen by others. Other people may see your work when being distributed, during group project work, or if I choose to use it for demonstration purposes. Papers written for this class must be typed and submitted in electronic format. The college subscribes to a third party service (Turnitin.com) that I may choose to use to check papers for plagiarism. There are no makeup quizzes, however your lowest quiz grade will be dropped. Backing up you work is mandatory. A lost, damaged or corrupted disk is not considered a valid reason for not handing in your work. Just a reminder. If you choose to contact me through Twitter or Facebook, you need to remember that posts there are public. Please post appropriate content only. I do moderate both and reserve the right to monitor posts, remove posts and ban users for inappropriate behavior. Attendance: Attendance is mandatory. More than two absences will result in your grade being reduced by a full letter. Tardies will accumulate to an absence. I cover a great deal of material and give many assignments during class. If you must miss a class you will be responsible to make up the work on your own time. Academic Honesty: Academic honesty is defined in the college catalog. If a student is found to have been involved in academic misconduct, I have the ability to apply any of the sanctions that are outlined in the catalog. Disabilities: Students with disabilities may contact the Disabilities Service Office, Central Campus, 800-628-7722 or 393-3431 ext.2604.
