JOB PROFILE and PERSON SPECIFICATION Job title: Marketing Assistant Reports to: Marketing Manager Hours: Full Time Salary: c. £18,000 Contract Type: Permanent Job Purpose: To assist the Marketing Manager with the marketing requirements of the Watts Gallery Trust in order to achieve visitor and income targets with a focus on events, venue hire, friends and donors support. Events: Adult learning, specialist and independent visitor Working with internal stakeholders and Marketing Manager to deliver three seasonal events leaflets and posters Working with Marketing Manager to deliver distribution plan, inc. paid and unpaid activity Using CMS ensure all events are on Watts Gallery website What’s on section Regularly check all event sales and prioritise web presence accordingly Weekly update to Marketing Manager on all event sale performance Promote events through social media channels (Facebook, Twitter, YouTube etc) Work with Marketing Manager to ensure all events are sent to listings contacts Working with Marketing Apprentice, lead on the content and timings for e-news Draft and prepare Press Releases for the local media Collect, scan and file relevant press articles Promote to special interest groups as appropriate Venue hire: Working with Marketing Manager deliver the annual marketing strategy for venue hire including corporate and private events and wedding reception to achieve targets Working with internal stakeholders and Marketing Manager to produce annual venue hire pack, inserts and press advert Support Visitor Services and Commercial Teams to develop appealing venue hire offers Produce marketing collateral for Trade and Wedding Fairs (stand, poster, flyer) and attend shows as required Ensure venue hire section of Watts website is up-to-date, relevant, and appropriate for audiences using CMS to manage content Promote to target markets through social media channels (Facebook, Twitter, YouTube etc) Build relationships with local companies for corporate hire, proactively seeking new sales opportunities Co-ordinate content and timings for venue hire e-news Draft and prepare Press Releases for the Trade media Collect, scan and file relevant press articles Friends and Donors: Working with Development Team and Marketing Manager to assist in achieving targets for Friends membership and Donor and Patrons schemes Working with Marketing Manager and Development to deliver annual Friends brochure and poster Working with Marketing Manager to deliver marketing activity to promote Friends scheme Proactively identify new opportunities to attract Friends Ensure Friends section on Watts Gallery website is updated and amend content through CMS as required, promote Friends benefits through website Promote Friends and Donor events through social media channels (Facebook, Twitter, Instagram) With Marketing Manager, co-ordinate content and timings for inclusion in enewsletter Assist with adhoc fundraising campaigns as required Assist with Donor and Patron fundraising events as required Local Community: Build strong relationships with the local Compton community Supply content for local press and newsletters Distribute leaflets and posters and organise local volunteers to assist with distribution Attend local summer fetes as required to raise awareness of Watts Pro-actively look for new opportunities and ways of working with local community Manage roadside signage including roadside banners Onsite marketing co-ordination: Work with internal stakeholders to prioritise messaging and ensure onsite marketing is of a high standard to cross promote all areas of the estate Manage existing marketing opportunities: Visitor Center A-board, Tea Shop posters, Toilet door posters, Old Pottery Posters, leaflet display across site, roadside banners onsite Identify new opportunities to cross-sell onsite: Welcome Centre, signage, Watts Studio, Limnerslease, Chapel Brand & Design: Act as liaison point for internal teams (Visitor Services, Venue Hire, Development, ) coordinating copy and images, creating design briefs for each project with approval from Marketing Manager Advise staff on the use of Brand and house style including logos and design templates Work with Marketing Apprentice to manage photographic libraries for Trust wide use and handle third party enquiries for images from media, designers, funders and internal requests Copywriting and proofreading a variety of marketing materials and to meticulously check for accuracy in all documents Research: Working closely with the Marketing Manager to support the on-going research programme Produce monthly Google Analytics reports for Marketing Manager to monitor web performance Produce monthly social media status report Champion Watts Audience Segmentation model ensuring staff always consider audiences Other duties To maintain and develop own professional knowledge and awareness To assist with marketing
