Clear Mixing Solution
Oil Gold Size is a solvent-based varnish
that contains a retarder. The varnish
stays open (tacky) for a certain time ,
normally measured in hours. The leaf is
applied to the tacky varnish, which then
dries completely. We supply Oil Gold
Size in 1– 2 Hour, 3 Hour and 12 Hour
versions.

Metal Leaf — 25 Sheets Transfer
Metal leaf is sold in book form, with 25 140 mm x 140 mm sheets per
book. Each book contains 0.5 sq metre of metal leaf. The leaf is sold
‘transfer’, with a paper backing for easier handling. Lose leaf is available
to order, if required.
Metal leaf will oxidise is left untreated, so it should be varnished with
shellac or Ormoline Sealer. Use French Enamel Varnish to colour & seal
the leaf.
