News Political Anchor.
Veteran newsman Dominic Carter has been described as the best political
reporter working in New York television today. He is only TV Journalist in the entire
country to interview Carolyn Kennedy regarding her past interest in the US Senate, an
interview made headlines throughout the world. Dominic has made numerous guest
appearances on national shows including “Face the Nation” and “Hardball with Chris
Matthews.” Dominic has also lived such a remarkable life that Oprah Winfrey has
profiled him in her signature magazine, and Donald Trump starts his most recent book
declaring how much respect he has for Dominic. Dominic has appeared on the cover of
the NY Times TV Guide, and has also released a book on his life, tittled No Momma’s
Boy, in which he chronicles his triumphant struggle to overcome his mother’s mental
illness while growing up in the Bronx housing project.
As a host of NY1 nightly political show, “Road to City Hall,” Carter has handled
some of the station’s most challenging assignments and has interviewed many national
and international leaders. He covered Barack Obama’s hjistoric road to victory, He
followed Obama during three critical battleground states,. Cater reported live from
Iowa, New Hampshire and Nevada and was even on field doing his show live at
Invesco Stadium in Denver Colorado, when Obama accepted his party’s nomination
before 84,000 people.
In 2006 Carter received widespread acclaim for his role as the moderator of
series of State-Wide debates including with Hillary Clinton where he again made
international headlines when Clinton said for the first time that she was thinking about
running for president.
His numerous exclusive interviews include former President Bill Clinton, to an
exclusive interview with Nelson Mandela during Mandela’s historic visit to the united
states- an interview he conducted as thousands of journalists from around the country
pursued the South African President.
The NY1 journalist had also reported extensively from abroad. In 1993 he was
the only television journalist in Japan with then-Mayor David Dinkins at the time of the
first World Trade Center terrorist bombing, and broadcast live back in New York from
Japan. He twice traveled to Israel to cover visits to the region by then-Mayor Rudy
Giuliani and Mayor Michael Bloomberg; he has reported on the famine from Somalia;
and he has spent time in the Persian Gulf.
Carter has appeared on the cover4 of the New York Times TV Guide, which

Daily News among many others. Carter has also been a guest on CNN, and the Fox
News Channel.
As a youngster growning up in the Bronx, Carter was involved with the Police
Athletic Lague, and today is proud to call himself a PAL KID. ”No Momma’s Boy,” His
