INTRODUCTION
As KFC begins to branch out into other
areas of Canada, we as a team must have
the materials needed to start as well as
maintain a new KFC area. It is with this in
mind that this C4 Missions Package has
been created in order for all KFC Mission
Teams to have the resources necessary to
go beyond their own areas or regions to
start Kids for Christ. This package will
also enable us to have a unified manual to
follow for all new KFC areas, thus
continuing to keep KFC Canada united in
its efforts to bring Christ to all the
children in our country.
1) WHAT IS CFC KIDS
FOR CHRIST?
I. What is CFC Kids for Christ?
A. Mission Statement
CFC Kids for Christ (KFC) is a family ministry of Couples for Christ
(CFC). It is a means of supporting CFC’s mission of bringing families
back to the plan of God by providing an environment that would assist the
CFC parents in fulfilling this mission.
“Let the children come to me and don’t stop them, for the
kingdom of God belongs to such as these.” Mark 10:14
As a response to Jesus’ call, CFC Kids for Christ will
1. help the children enjoy a relationship with Jesus Christ in an
environment that is fun and life-giving in the company of their friends, and
2. create an atmosphere where Christian values can be shared,
practiced, developed, and experienced.
We believe in the “4F” principle in building the KFC environment:
1. Fun
-- Have activities which the children find exciting &
enjoyable.
2. Friendship -- Find ways to encourage the members to build strong
friendships with one another.
3. Faith
-- All activities are geared towards their relationship with
God.
4. Freedom -- The children are respected for what and who they are.
They can be trusted and given responsibilities.
KFC will also help prepare the children for their next support group,
which is CFC Youth for Christ.

B. Philosophy of KFC

CFC KFC believes ...
......that children have a special place in God’s heart.
......that Jesus calls even the little children to have this special relationship with Him.
......that children can grow in their love and trust for God through a meaningful
relationship with parents and peers.
......that children must respect and obey their parents and other significant persons in
their life.
......that parents, being the prime movers in the child’s life, have the primary
responsibility of guiding, teaching, and instilling Christian values.
......in training up the young child in the ways of the Lord and to be responsible at
home and in school.
......that the pre-teen stage of a child’s life are crucial formative years, and that
Christian values and attitudes can be absorbed and imbibed during these years.
......in the innocence, purity, and simplicity of children; and that God’s plan is to
preserve and enhance this nature rather than it be eroded by the ways of the world.
......that children have a strong need for acceptance and belonging; that they need
and desire to have caring and loving friends and playmates.
......that children need a healthy concept of themselves, which may be enhanced by
their parents acting as primary role models and also by secondary role models from
Kids for Christ, Youth for Christ, and Singles for Christ.
......that our children’s God-given gifts and talents need to be recognized and
nurtured in a healthy Christian environment that is fun and life-giving.
......that KFC is an integral part of CFC where the pastoral structure of CFC and the
support of parents are essential to its success.

C. What KFC is and What KFC is not
KFC is ...
......a children’s club, where the children feel accepted and appreciated for
who they are -- children of God.
......a place where Christian values taught by the parents are shared,
practiced, experienced, and reinforced within a peer group environment.
......a place where the children have fun, knowing they have friends.
......a place where they feel they belong, just as their parents belong to
CFC, their older brothers and sisters belong to CFC Youth for Christ or
CFC Singles for Christ, or their aunts to CFC Handmaids of the Lord, or
their uncles to CFC Servants of the Lord.
KFC is not ...
......an outreach of CFC, but an integral part of its life and mission; service
in KFC is just as essential and important as service in CFC and in the
other ministries.
......a formal school, like the CFC Children’s Center. They are two distinct
and different entities.
......a day-care center, a place where parents can leave their children
while attending to other activities.
......a catechetical instruction group or a Sunday school type of program.
2) REQUIRED
ACITIVITIES
In order to start and maintain new Kids for Christ areas, the following
activities must be conducted atleast once, by the KFC Mission Team.
However, the dates in which these events take place need not be in
close proximity with each other. The scheduling of these events can
be organized by the KFC Mission Team Head as well as the head of
the new area.

I. Overview of the Senior Kids Camp
A. Description
The Senior Kids Camp is the formal entry point of children (ages 9 to 12) of
Couples for Christ (CFC) members to the CFC Kids for Christ (KFC). This is a two
day live-in camp usually conducted during summer. It is an experience where the
kids can have fun, and at the same time hear and see the Word of God being
proclaimed by the CFC Youth for Christ (YFC) servants in ways that they can
appreciate.
It is in this camp where the “Senior Kids” experience God proclaimed by their
YFC brothers and sisters who were just like them a few years ago, and who they can
now look up to as models.
In this Camp, they can make friends as they play games, share experiences,
and entertain one another in a wholesome Christian environment. Here, they can
discover and be encouraged to develop their gifts and potential for leadership as
they are exposed to their peers and to the youth who are actively serving them as
speakers, facilitators, games coordinators, and others.
B. Goals
The objectives of this Camp are as follows:
1. To introduce Jesus to the kids, making them realize that God has a special place
for them in His heart, and that He loves them very much even if they are still very
young.
2. To enable the kids to respond to God’s love through a healthy and fun
environment of prayers, songs, activities and fellowship among peers and friends.
3. To give them a sense of identity as members of CFC Kids for Christ where they
can share and expect Christian love, unity, and support from one another.
4. To expose them to their older brothers and sisters in YFC, joyfully using their
talents to serve them, inspiring them to look forward to joining CFC
Youth for Christ when they grow older.

II. Planning for the Senior Kids Camp
A. Participants to the Senior Kids Camp
Participation in the camp is exclusive to all children of CFC members and
couples undergoing the Christian Life Program (CLP) ages 9 to 12. A camp can
contain a maximum of 50 participants, excluding the service team. Since YFC
members will serve in the camp, a ratio of 1 YFC servant to 7 KFC participants is
observed.
B. Role of the Parents in the Senior Kids Camp
The parents are vital in sustaining the spiritual growth of their kids during and
after the camp. Therefore they are required to attend an orientation meeting
scheduled prior to the camp. Here, they will be oriented by the KFC coordinator
about the activities and let them fill up the information sheets and waiver forms
needed. (See Annex).
C. The Service Team
Maximum of 10 YFC representatives from whom the following key positions
shall be delegated:
* 1 facilitator for every 4-7 kids (boys to boys, girls to girls)
* music ministry
* team leader/s (max. of 2 --- 1 boy & 1 girl)
* 4 speakers
* 4 sharers
* camp servants
Two CFC Couple Coordinators will oversee the whole camp: 1 Service Team
Head and 1 Assistant Service Team Head. Other couple coordinators must be
assigned to the registration team.

Please note that the team composition, as suggested, may not be ideal or
adequate to be able to accomplish and achieve targeted goals of the camp,
considering the needs for kids’ safety, security and supervision. Additional volunteer
parents and/or YFC representatives therefore, are expected to gladly assist in the
administrative functions, but are willing to be on live-out status for purposes of cost
savings.
D. Suggested Venue and Facilities
The camp site must have a wide and clean environment where children can
play and walk around safely; where bonfire can be done. It must have separate
bedrooms for boys and girls; can accomodate at least 64 persons; with adequate
supply of water and electricity; means of communication provided; clean bathroom,
toilet, canteen/mess room, recreational facilities.

Important Notes:
The schedules written in this manual are guides for the Senior Kids
Camp Service Team. If circumstances call for a different schedule, the
team should be flexible enough to follow where the Holy Spirit leads.
For the Play Break on Day 1, be sure to provide alternative activities
for children who will not be able to participate on the major activity. For
example, for children who were not allowed by parents to swim, they can
have a cooking activity or art activity, etc.
You may also ask the children to write something about the Senior
Kids Camp. Example, “What is the most memorable thing that happened
to me during the Kids Camp?” This may be done before the Mass.
The time for dedication to KFC and the distribution of ID/KFC
Promise (Commitment Card) may be done within the mass. Note that it is
only in the Senior Kids Camp that the child will be given a commitment
card, as this is not given out to the participants of the Junior Kids Day for
kids ages 4 to 8 years old. (See separate manual for Junior Kids Day.)

IV. Team Leader’s Guide
A. The Team Leader and the Senior Kids Camp

Goals of the Kids Camp (as mentioned earlier)
1. To introduce Jesus to the kids, making them realize that God has a special
place for them in His heart, and that He loves them very much even if they are still
very young.
2. To enable the kids to respond to God’s love through a healthy and fun
environment of prayers, songs, activities and fellowship among peers and friends.
3. To give them a sense of identity as members of CFC Kids for Christ where
they can share and expect Christian love, unity, and support from one another.
4. To expose them to their older brothers and sisters in YFC, joyfully using
their talents to serve them, inspiring them to look forward to joining CFC Youth for

enjoyable (games, songs, bonfire, play time, etc.)

another. (The team is encouraged to mingle with the kids.)

4. Freedom - The children are respected for what & who they are.
B. Attitudes of a Team Leader
1.
The team leader strives to be a person of vision. He sees that the Kids Camp
is not an end in itself but rather the beginning of a process of growth.
2.
The team leader is flexible. He is open to changes/modifications of any
activity/game if the children are not receptive towards it.
3.
The team leader is alert. He watches the children for clues. (Children get
discouraged when the learning game seems too difficult. Children get restless and
fidgety if the games are too easy.)

4.
The team leader strives for clarity.
a. He allows others to see what he sees. He makes sure that his female
partner, couple coordinator, and team have the same understanding as he does
about circumstances in the camp.
b. He finds ways to make the participants relate to the talks and sharings.
These are done through jokes, anecdotes, examples in current movie/t.v./music
trends and illustrates these in terms familiar to the participants.

The team leader strives to have a heart for God and His people.
a. He listens to the Lord: prepares spiritually before the camp; continues to
consult and intercede to the Lord throughout the camp.
b. He has a feel for the people: mingles and relates with the team; mingles
and relates with the participants.
c. He loves the people he serves.
C. Roles and Responsibilities of a Team Leader
1.
Each Kids Camp has two team leaders; one for the boys and one for the girls.
a. The male team leader leads the sessions: leads prayers, worship;
introduces speakers and sharers; wraps up, summarizes, emphasizes points for
clarity; sits infront, listening to each talk.
b. The female team leader is there to respond to the needs of the girls and
provide input in planning and conducting the camp.
c. Both team leaders work in consultation with each other to unify and provide
focus for the team.
d. They should both be prepared to give any of the four talks.
e. They make sure that the Camp Schedule is followed.

Gives input in camp decisions to the Couple Coordinator.

Leads the team.
a. Facilitates team meetings: listens to input from the team; gives instructions
to and receives instructions from the Couple Coordinator; leads worship.

b. Makes sure that the team knows what to do and actually does it. Runs
through regular activities with the team beforehand so they know what’s happening;
regularly supports and instructs camp servants.
c. Corrects the team (individually or as a whole group). Note: The Couple
Coordinator should course his/her corrections through the team leader.
d. Encourages the team: exhorts; takes every opportunity to commend them.
e. Gives advice.

Makes sure that the 4 F’s are used properly.
D. Practical Tips for the Entire Service Team
1.
Be humble. Try to answer all the questions of the children. Don’t be afraid to
admit to a child that you don’t know the answer to the question. You can even refer
the question back to the child by saying, “I don’t know, what do you think?”
2.
Be encouraging. Always focus on what they can do instead of what they can’t
do. Be generous in praising them for every little good thing they do. This will give
them the courage to try harder and feel good about themselves.
3.
Don’t compare the children. Children are all special. Bring out the
uniqueness of each child by paying special attention to them when they participate
and by encouraging those shy ones to speak or to play with the others.
4.
Enjoy serving with the children. Children can easily detect negative emotions.
These can sometimes bring down their spirit and allow them to lose interest in the
activity. Your enjoyment in working together at learning new activities and games
will build healthy emotions and can nourish the child’s self-esteem. Always keep a
smile on your face. It is an honor and a privilege to be serving those closest to
God’s heart.
E. Purpose of Some Aspects of the Camp
1.
Purpose of Mingling
a. Allows you to relate to the participants/team.
b. Evangelistic.
c. Builds friendships.
2.
Purpose of Seating Arrangement (the ideal is U shape)
a. It is easier to speak to the children because distance is cut.
b. Removes the formality of a classroom setting.
c. Children encourage one another to be more participative.
d. You become part of the group.
3.
Purpose of Songs
a. Teaches the children to pray and to make prayer more enjoyable.
b. Enjoyable --- God gets His message through with the least
resistance.
c. Makes activity participative.
d. Energizes the sessions. (wakes the children up)
e. Gathers the children to start a session.
4.
Purpose of Humor
a. Makes the children listen to/enjoy the sessions.
b. Establishes rapport with audience.
c. Makes a point easy to remember.
5.
Purpose of Games
a. Makes sessions enjoyable.
b. Makes activities participative.
c. Energizes the camp.
V. Expanded Outlines
The topics to be discussed with the children should be short, very simple, and
informal. Visual aids --- such as pictures or slide shows --- may be used to sustain
the interest of the children in listening to the topics being discussed. Remember that
the attention span of children is very short. The sharings/personal testimonies must
be alive and exciting.
A. Topic 1: God Loves Me and He Wants Me to be Happy
I. Who is God?
(Ask anyone who they think God is. They could recite it out loud or you can ask them
to try to draw a picture how they perceive God to be.)
The result would most probably describe God as:
- Creator - He made everything!
- good
- loving and kind
- controls the weather or something!
After this simple activity, affirm thier description about God who is powerful, wise,
and who created everything.
II. The God who made everything loves you!
God loves each and everyone of us. He created all of us. Without Him, we
would not be here. He loves us and wants us to be happy. He gives us beautiful
things and all the things we need. (Tell them to close their eyes and imagine the
things God gave them that makes them happy. After a minute, you can ask them
what are the things God gave us and take note of them.)
- The trees
- The sky
- Our pets
- the air we breathe and the water we use
- He gave us LIFE.
Yes, the most beautiful gift he gave us is our LIFE. He also gave others life so
that we may enjoy the things He made for us. He gave us our parents, our brothers
and sisters. He gave us everyone that we love.

III. He gave us all these things so we can be happy!
God loves us and wants us to be happy. Our parents are there to take care
of us. Our brothers and sisters are there to help us. Our friends are there to play with
us.
If God loves you, do you love God? How can your show you love God? Let us
pray to God. (Invite them for a short prayer. Tell them to repeat after you)
Lord,/ thank you for creating so many things for me./ Thank you for the trees,/
the animals,/ the mountains,/ and the air./ Thank you/ for giving me life./ Thank you/
for my parents,/ brothers and sisters,/ and friends. I know/ that you love me/ and
want me to be happy./ I also want to love you/ and make you happy./ Help me to be
good/ so I can show you my love/ and make you happy./ Amen.
IV. Sharing (Introduce sharer for this topic. 5 mins. only)
Suggested Activities:
1. Marshmallow Sculptures
Materials:
Marshmallows
toothpicks
Dynamics: Give each small group plenty of marshmallows and toothpicks.
Ask them to make something that God gave us using the
marshmallows and toothpicks. encourage them to work as a
team. Interview them later what are the things that they created.
After that they can eat the marshmallows.
2. Diorama Using Junk Materials
Materials:
Scissors (safe ones)
Glue/Paste
Empty cartons of the following: soap/toothpaste,
matchbox, toilet paper roll
Cloth, yarn, wood shavings, sand, pebbles, bottle caps,
etc...
Dynamics:
Ask the children to make a mini diorama of God’s
creations. Encourage them to work as a team.

B. Topic 2: Jesus Will Show Me How to Love God
I. Who is Jesus?
(Just like the first Topic, ask them who Jesus is and take note of their
answers.)
Whenever we celebrate Christmas, who’s birthday is it? Yes, Jesus was born
on Christmas day. Jesus is the Son of God. God sent Jesus to us to show us how to
love God.
II. How did Jesus show us how to love God?
A. When he was young...
- He helped his foster father Joseph
- He was obedient to his mother Mary
- They prayed as a family every night
- He loved to play with his friends and did not fight them
B. When he was older....
- He went from town to town and told people that
“My Father (God) loves you very much.”
- He healed the sick, the blind, and the deaf
- He taught people how to pray to God
- He made the sad people happy
III. What did people say about Jesus
People were always following Jesus. They said that:
- “Jesus is so good.”
- “He is the friend of all.”
- “He is the Son of God.”
- “We love Jesus!” and “Let’s follow Him!”

III. Let’s follow Jesus!
God loves us so much that He sent us His Son Jesus. God wants us to love
others just like Jesus did when he was here on earth. Let us love God by loving and
following his Son Jesus Christ. Let us pray:
Lord,/ help us to love Jesus./ He is good,/ obedient,/ and prayerful./ Help me/ to be
like him./ I want to be good,/ obedient,/ and prayerful./ I want to be His friend./ I want
to love others/ just like He did./ Help me/ to be like Jesus always/ so I may show you/
how I love you./ Amen.
IV. Sharing (Introduce sharer for this topic. 5 mins. only)

Dynamics:
Distribute a copy of the questionnaire per participant. Have
their pens ready. Instruct them to check or encircle their
answers. After having completed the questionnaire, as a group,
go over all the answers and reveal to them the right response
for each question.

C. Topic 3: God Will Always Forgive Me Because He Loves Me
I. God wants us to be good.
God is good to us. But He is hurt when we do bad things. We cannot say “I
love God” if we are not good. That is why he wants us to be good boys and girls
always. If we say sorry for the wrong things we’ve done, God will always forgive us.
II. The Prodigal Son
Read beforehand the story of the Prodigal Son. Then narrate the story to the
kids in an interesting way, emphasizing that God is like the father who forgives the
sin if we say sorry.
III. We can show our love for God by turning away from sin.
A. Some examples of sin.
- answering back to our parents
- not obeying our parents
- lying, stealing, cheating
- saying bad words, swearing
- looking at bad pictures
- hurting others
- by being selfish, stubborn
B. How can we be sorry for these sins?
- by being honest and humble to admit our mistakes
- by praying to God and asking for forgiveness
- by going to confession
IV. God is always merciful.
Remember the Prodigal Son. No matter how big our sins are, God will forgive
us because He loves us. Jesus is always here to help us be sorry for our sins and
come before His Father. Let us be sorry for all our sins and allow Jesus to wash us
clean from all our sinfulness.

Materials:
Dynamics:

Let the children write letters to God expressing their love and
asking forgiveness for their wrongdoings. These letters are to
be offered during the Mass the following day. The facilitators
should make sure that each child is able to write to God.
Note: The letters may be read by the Couple Coordinators after the camp for
evaluation purposes only.
D. Topic 4: The Holy Spirit Will Help Me to be Good Always
I. We have a Helper!
(Ask them if they know of any super hero who “helps” people.) Just like these
super heroes, do you know that there is someone greater than them who’s always
ready to help us? Do you know that there is someone who is always with us who
helps us to be good? He is called the Holy Spirit.
II. Who is the Holy Spirit?
The Holy Spirit is God’s own Spirit. We cannot see Him. But He is always
present. He is with us, everyday, every hour, every minute, and every second. When
we pray to Him, he gives us the strength to be good and avoid sin and other bad
things. We can also ask help from Him when we are sad and troubled. He listens to
us always. He makes us love God even more!
III. Do you know that we can receive the Holy Spirit?
Yes, we can. But we need to pray with someone and ask God to fill us with
His Spirit. We will do this later after this talk.
Before we can receive the Holy Spirit, we must first show God that we love
Him and the people He gave us.
A. Pray to the Lord and tell Him:
- we don’t want to sin anymore
- we love Jesus and want to be with Him always
- we need a Helper and believe that God will give Him to us
B. We must express our love for our parents, brothers and sisters, and
friends.
- God will be pleased if we show our love for these people
- He wants us to be obedient and loving
IV. Conclusion
God loves us. He sent Jesus to be our friend. He is now sending His Holy

V. Letter Giving and Dialogue
Instruct the parents to stay beside their child after this talk. The parents can
invite their kids to a place where they can start exchanging letters and having the
dialogue. (It is assumed that the parents have been oriented earlier about their letter
to their children and the dialogue that expresses love and forgiveness. They should
also encourage their children to receive the Holy Spirit and pray for their concerns
during the pray-over.)
VI. The Pray-over Session
Gather the participants with their parents in the session hall. Make sure that
the parents are standing beside their children.
Tell the kids to sit with their hands on their lap as a sign of receiving. After
settling down remind the kids to be prayerful, asking God to send His Spirit to them.
Ask the music ministry to play a slow song previously taught earlier. After the song,
the parents will lay their hands over their children and pray over them. Make sure
they are oriented of the pray-over process:
1. Praising.
2. Pray for the child’s concerns.
3. Ask the Holy Spirit to come to their child.
4. Thanksgiving prayer.
5. Close with Our Father, Hail Mary, Glory Be.
V. Worship
After everyone has been prayed-over, exhort the kids to thank God for the
Holy Spirit in them. The way to show it is through a series of songs and prayer called
a worship. The process is as follows:
1. Teach them to voice their praises (Thank you Lord, I love you Lord, I praise
you!)
2. Explain raising of hands as a way of telling God “You are great!”
3. Start the worship with a fast song, then praising, then a slow song.
4. After the singing, lead the assembly in a simple thanksgiving prayer to God
for sending His Spirit to them.
5. Close the worship with a Glory Be. (A song is optional).

The Heart for the Kids Weekend/Training is designed to train and enhance the skills and
talents of selected YFC members for service in Kids for Christ. It is a two-day overnight
activity that allows them to interact with one another, and exchange ideas in preparing for
their KFC service.
The training program aims:

CFC Kids for Christ
2. To further understand the nature of kids and thus learn how to effectively deal with

3. To develop and enhance the creativity of the participants by initiating venues for them

Relate back to talk 5 of a youth camp-growing in the spirit. This will bring back the fact that YFC is bigger than a youth
camp and there are larger things to serve.
As we grow in YFC we are all asked not only to strengthen our personal relationships with the Lord, but also to serve
Him and our brothers and sisters. This weekend we are all called to something great: serving in the Kids For Christ
ministry. But before we all learn and train to serve the kids we must understand this ministry.

Service Roles and Responsibiliites:
As YFC KFC CHAPTER CORE you are responsible for helping execute all Chapter/Cluster KFC
events. Along side your CFC KFC Couple Coordinators all events in your area regarding KFC will
be liable on your service.
Pastoral Roles & Responsibilities
As YFC KFC CORE, Kids for Christ is only a SERVICE MINISTRY. All pastoral aspects (i.e.
households, one on ones, leaders assemblies) are to be taken with your resective Youth for Christ
areas. (i.e. if you are a yfc kfc core chapter 3, you attend your respective households in YFC in that
area).
Talk 2: Caring for Kids
Children have a special place in God’s heart and in the innocence, purity, and simplicity of
children, it is His plan to preserve and enhance this nature rather than it be washed out by the
ways of the world. The early to the pre-teen stages of a kid’s life consists of crucial formative years,
and that Christian values and attitudes can be absorbed and imbibed during these years. However,
in order to take care of our young brothers and sisters, we must first understand their nature to see
where they are coming from.
As we discuss the developmental characteristics of this age group, we should remember that these are just
general guidelines for us to understand them. There should be allowances for differences in skills, behavior, rate of
growth, and temperaments. It does not mean that each kid will or should be that way. Again, remember that each child
is unique – he/she has his own qualities and individuality.
Junior Kids: 4-8 year olds
A. They have a short attention span
1. It is important to realize that children in this age bracket cannot stand listening to long talks. The most
effective way to reach the children is by involving them in an activity that they can enjoy. A short
processing session should follow (see samples in the Junior Kids’ Day manual) that relates the activity
to the value or lesson to be learned. If it is absolutely necessary to give a “talk” it should last no longer
than five minutes.
2. The duration of the talk is not the only consideration; the manner of presenting the topic should also be
given importance. The speaker must be both lively and animated in order to capture and maintain the
attention of the children. “Interactive” talks, wherein the children are asked to respond or participate,
also hold their attention.
B. Most of them are extremely active
1. Junior kids are normally restless, especially 4 to 6-year olds. Activities such as running, jumping,
dancing and generally moving around appeal most to them. The service team must exercise maximum
tolerance and patience in maintaining a reasonable level of order during activities.
C. They are attracted to motion and interesting visuals
1. It is important to bear this in mind when planning for any activity where the kids are involved. This is
especially important for such activities as storytelling and the like.
D. Most of them learn better through repetition
1. Children are able to understand and remember lessons better when they are instructed to repeat or
recall important points brought up in a given activity. Having them repeat what you say can also excite
them and impress upon them that learning can be fun.
E. They need specific instructions
1. General instructions that could normally be given to older children and adults are usually difficult for
them to understand. Step-by-step directions are easier for them to follow, and give them greater
confidence to carry them out. Sometimes, when a child refuses to follow directions, it is more out of
confusion rather than disobedience.
F. They respond to love
1. Like most people, children can generally sense when a person has genuine concern for them.
Seemingly little gestures like remembering their names, accompanying them to the bathroom and
conversing with them cheerfully tell them more about God’s love than anything you can ever say.
Serving them with a cheerful and loving heart helps them realize that what they learn in KFC is true and
worth believing in. As they grow, your constant example makes you a credible teacher to follow and
look up to.
Senior Kids: 9-12 year olds
A. They demonstrate considerable competence and continuing mastery of their bodies and
their environment.

Skill increases with maturity until, by the end of the period, some kids are highly skilled and much in
demand for various sports.
Boys are stronger than girls.
Girls may be more graceful and accurate.
Fine motor skills (writing and drawing) improve noticeably.
B.
They become more mentally competent that they can plan and evaluate problem-solving strategies, and
execute them. They also learn to adapt better.
1. Motivate them. Give them a reason to become involved. Allow them to use their hidden potentials so
that their talents may not go to waste. Teach the kids not to be satisfied with the first thing they do. Use
prizes and other tangible rewards to motivate them. Remember that their energy should be focused on
the right modes of motivation so that they will be encouraged to establish worthwhile goals.
2. Give them many opportunities to explore their different talents and skills. Use different methods when
helping them discover their different interests. Provide varied experiences for them. These will help
them to know more about the world and the people around. Make them aware of current environmental
concerns and widen their knowledge of their culture.
3. Provide venues for them to showcase the fruits of their labor. If they are unable to sustain their efforts,
they are in danger of failure. For example, when we conduct creative workshops, we should make sure
there is time wherein the kids can show what they learned. If there are art workshops, exhibits of their
artworks can be put up. These will help the kids have confidence and be proud in them.
4. Always have an encouraging attitude towards the kids. We should always ask them to do more but we
should make sure their efforts are appreciated. A simple pat on the back or a word of praise is
something they would savor a lot. Simple gestures will give them a chance to overcome their fear of
failure that they might have acquired early in life, which if not addressed, may keep them from fulfilling
their potentials.
C. They look up to their elder siblings as role models.
1. Older siblings can help their younger brothers and sisters ease many of the normal upsets of growing
up. By being models, offering advice, and interceding with adults, siblings form bonds that last a lifetime.
2. They begin to develop their self-identity. Observing and imitating, without parental pressure, can be
effective in acquiring competence. Accepting some of an older sibling’s behaviors and rejecting others
contribute to their own sense of identity.
3. They act as mediators in bridging the gap between parent coordinators and the kids themselves.
D. They enjoy doing stuff with their friends.
1. During this age, relationships with friends are very important. Kids are attracted to those who share their
interests, who play well with them, and who help them learn about themselves.
2. Their friends are usually similar to them in age or within 12 months of each other. Kids associate more
frequently with members of their own sex because they share mutual interests.
3. Friends provide opportunities for learning. They teach kids how to communicate with one another. This
allows them to recognize other person’s needs and interests.
4. Friendship also means that a kid has to learn how to cooperate and how to deal with conflict.
5. Friends give kids the chance to compare themselves with others. It’s also a means of evaluating oneself
by comparison with others.
6. Friends give kids the chance to feel that they belong to a group. Here the kids learn about not just
individual friendships but roles, collective participation, and group support for activities.
Activity: Case Study Analysis
A. Objectives
1. To prepare the YFC service team for the different cases they may encounter in
their KFC service.
2. To simulate various cases in order to train the YFC service team to have presence
of mind especially when in unavoidable situations.
3. To allow YFC to have fun and bond during the treasure hunt process.
B. Instructions:
1. Divide the group into smaller groups of 5.
2. Create Case Studies and Write the cases on separate sheets of paper.
3. Devise a series of clues (preferably in riddle form) that will lead the participants
into a treasure hunt throughout the garden/forest trail/outdoor venue. At the end
of each group’s hunt, ask them to read the case given to them, analyze it and
portray the solution in skit presentation to later be presented.
C. Case Studies:
Create Case Studies to give to YFC. Use own personal experiences in KFC Area to
help prepare the new CORE with what to expect serving in KFC.
Case Study Example:
Some KFC members are bullying an 11-year-old boy. The boy does not want to attend the
monthly KFC gatherings because a lot of people are teasing him and he does not want to
participate in all group activities. As a member of the youth service team, what will you do?
Workshop : Speaker’s Workshop
A. Objectives
1. To be able orient the participants in giving talks or facilitating sessions to a young
audience.
2. To introduce creative ways in speaking before KFC members.
B. Introduction
“To whomever I send you, you shall go; whatever I command you, you shall
speak; Have no fear before them, because I am with you to deliver you says the
Lord.” (Jer 1: 5-8)
C. Preparing for the Talk (Short Recap)

3. Love the kids. Understand where they’re coming from.
a. Know their concerns- studies, family, siblings, peers, ambitions

Workshop : Storytelling Workshop

Objectives
1. To introduce storytelling as an alternative method of giving talks to KFC members.
2. To prepare participants for different storytelling methods.
B.
Introduction
Pep Talk on Storytelling
When telling a story, be yourself, do not try to become a dramatic character or
something you’re not. Reading stories aloud from books will always play a part in
education. But it is not storytelling. Storytelling is older than reading (or being read to)
and is a more complete form of communication. It has neither the careful polish of
literature nor the rehearsed spectacle of drama. Instead it is a unique form of
improvisation created in the moment through interplay of audience, storyteller and
story.
C. Points to remember
1. Off the page
- A story read from a book would gain some refinement but may lose the raw
vitality of the Living Word. So getting a story from a book may need some
adjustments and preparations.
2. Not by Word
- A story shouldn’t be memorized word for word but by heart. All you need to
remember are key words, phrases and significant events.
3. Grasping the Plot
- Read the story several times, in order for you to fully understand the flow of
the story and to be confident enough to retell it in the way that you want it to
be.
4. Seeing the Story
- Visualize the setting, people and events in the story as clearly and as
detailed as you can. You can do this by closing your eyes and imagining.
5. Timing is Essential
- Know when to speed up, slow down (e.g. climax). Don’t be afraid to pause to
create a more dramatic effect.
6. Practicing the story and playing with your voice
-Try taping yourself while telling a story and then retell it with the corrections
form the first recording.
7. Movement and gesture
- Don’t just stand in place while telling your story; you’ll be no different from a book.
However, also remember not to overact.
8. Have fun
- If done with confidence and passion, storytelling could be fun not only for the
audience but also for the storyteller.
9. Pray
- That God may use you powerfully in telling His story through you.

1. Each participant will imagine holding an extraordinary gift. (e.g. the Sun, balot
at asin, flying dragon)
2. They will move around and exchange gifts with each other while describing
what it is they have in their hands. They should be creative in acting out what
they are holding and describe it in the best way the others would be able to
understand them.

1. The participants will form a circle and the facilitator starts with a phrase to
begin a story. The person on his/her left will continue the story with his/her
own input. The story will evolve and develop into a climax and a conclusion.
This aims to develop the spontaneity of the storytellers.

Partner A tells the story they made to the audience without words and only
actions. After that the partner B will tell it to the group with the words and

Talk 3 : Fun things in KFC!
B. Concept: Breakers Game
1. Gather all the YFC participants and group them into groups of 7-11 members each.
2. Explain that this activity will take them back to their childhood, where they need to
recall the things that they used to like or dislike, love or hate.
3. Appoint a team leader to facilitate the discussion following the questionnaire below.

C. Explanation of the Activity
Take a look at your answers. Most probably, these answers are the same things
that kids today may have. Despite the changes in culture, technology, economy and all
the other environmental factors, the very basic answers to these questions are the same
with children now as it was before.
In designing KFC activities, the first step that should be taken is to enter the mind
of a child. The activity that was earlier presented to you may have helped some. The
reason behind this is to create activities that children would actually enjoy doing and to

D. What elements should we consider in planning out activities for the kids?
1. It should be EXCITING. Children respond more when the activity is of high interest.
2. It should be CREATIVE. Think of activities that will serve as an avenue for them to
develop their different motor skills (e.g. drawing, scribbling, symbolism, etc.)
3. It should be ACTIVE. At this stage, children are only just developing their motor skills.
Consider activities that involve maximum participation.
4. It should be EDUCATIONAL. Children continuously process new information.
Constantly, provide them with helpful and important ideas.
5. It should be CHALLENGING. Mentally, and physically stimulating activities allow them
to exercise their mind and body and serve as effective training for responsible
individuals.
6. It should be LARGER THAN LIFE. How they relate to other and to the world beyond
their family and their own selves is established at this stage. Come up with activities
that appeal to them and that are as realistic as possible.
E. Application
Ask the participants to go back to their groups. Divide the months in a year by the number
of groups and ask them to design activities for those months assigned to them guided by
the themes stated below. Each activity should follow this format: title, dynamics,
objectives, procedure, materials needed, schedule.

A. Objectives

Give each participant a paper plate. Instruct them to make masks out of the art
materials available. Tell them to use their creativity and ingenuity in coming up with

their feelings and ideas about the training and their service.

Talk 4: Serving the kids with heart!
A. As CFC and KFC enter the New Millennium, we see the following developments happening:
1. The KFC program is being taken more seriously across Canada.
2. KFC is beginning to take huge leaps with their efforts for GK.
3. The KFC program being more firmly rooted in countries where CFC is established,
with various adaptations in different cultures.
4. Regional Kids Villages(RKVs) are becoming a huge factor to the lives of KFC
members across Canada
5. The attraction to and involvement of more youth leaders in the program, even the
hiring of more youth mission volunteers and single full-time workers in Metro Manila
and the provinces to cater to program development expansion and growth.
6. With a younger, more Ministry-conscious CFC population borne of the transition of the
Family Ministries, the involvement of more parents in the formation of their Kids in
KFC.
7. More KFC’s coming with the generational turnover of a more life and family- conscious
CFC generation, also borne of CFC's’ work in various areas today.
8. The KFC program interacting and evangelizing a greater cross-section of societies and
cultures all over the world.
B.
As we see the Lord unfold all these developments before our eyes, we are humbled and realize the need for more
laborers to work on the harvest, but more and more with hearts that follow after the Master’s heart.
C. What kind of a heart does Jesus have that we should all have as well, as we seek to bring more of God’s little
ones to Him.

TALK ONE :THE CALL TO SERVE
I. INTRODUCTION
*Ask the participants to close their eyes and remember as far back as they can when they were children. The
“simpler” times they spent growing up in elementary school even early high school.
*After “painting” the picture of the past, ask them to open their eyes and to share some of their experiences.
II. OUR WORLD TODAY
The times of the past were fond memories but unfortunately those times have changed. The
Children, our children today, in this country, are now growing up in a more complicated trouble
time.
The Society we live in today give our children complications every day such as:
 Child Violence:
-How many times have we heard about bullying going overboard once a child hits high school?
This is because the aggression rate in Canada has risen 55% in the past 10 years for children 2-5
and 60% in children 5-12.
The world is making it more acceptable for children to be aggressive and less loving.

Materialism
-Children today are surrounded by technology, retail, advertisements, etc…so much so that it has
created an absence of God in their lives. The pressure to have the latest toys will always be
around at school.
“If I have everything I need, then why do I need God?”-this can be learned at a very young age. So
much that this can lead disinterest in God because of preoccupation.

Pressure to GROW UP
-There is an overwhelming pressure for children to act more mature than they are. This is done by
the society we live in. This causes them to miss out on their childhood and experience things that
children shouldn’t (i.e. sexual activity, alcohol, drugs, gangs, need of money etc.).
The new generation of TWEENS(Children 9-12)-These are Pre-teens that have their own preadolescent generation that is building them with keeping in style with teenagers, being aware of
safe sex, being cool with the latest fads etc.
III. THE CALL FOR KIDS FOR CHRIST
The Lord’s response to this is CFC KIDS FOR CHRIST. This ministry allows children to realize how
special they are in the eyes of God and that they were meant to live for so much more.
“Do not let anyone look down on you because you are young. But be an example for the believers in your
speech, your conduct, your love, faith and purity.” 1Timothy 4:12
In KFC, we have the 4 F’s (FUN, FREEDOM, FELLOWSHIP, FAITH) which allow them to learn, be
active and grow in their early stages of Christian faith.

FUN:
Through Fun, children listen and want to participate. With the activities in KFC children see
how they can really form values and beliefs in God while doing the same things that they
could do at any after-school or in-school club.

FREEDOM:
In KFC, children are given the freedom to be who they truly are. They have no pressure to
hide what they are comfortable being and doing. Individuality is encouraged instead of
contained. Children are respected for who they really are.
“You have been called to live in freedom…but freedom to serve one another in love” Galatian 5:13

FELLOWSHIP:
Through the fun and exciting gatherings, and also from the support they begin to receive,
they begin to build friendships that last forever. Friendships built on love of Christ.
Children in Kids for Christ find life-long friendships that last through their growth in Youth
for Christ, Singles for Christ and Couples for Christ.
“Where two or three are gathered together because they are mine, I am there among them.” Matthew
18:20

FAITH:
In all of our events, Christ is the center of it all. No matter what the activity or where they
are, their Faith in God is encouraged and challenged in growing closer to Him.
“That is, that you and I may be mutually encouraged by each other’s faith.” Romans 1:12
Through all, CFC Kids for Christ begins to build a new life in which the children can grow and be
supported enough to deal with the trials and tribulations of Today’s world. It is only through firm
peer support from other children in Kids for Christ and through the examples of the YFC serving in
KFC as well as the KFC Couple Coordinators. Having these 4 F’s in their Christian life make
dealing with things and learning to make decisions for themselves as individuals easier to involve
Christ.
IV. BUILDING A NEW GENERATION
Instead of just keeping this to themselves, Couples for Christ and CFC KFC brings new life and the
Hope of Christ to the Children and others across the world. This builds a New Generation of Christ
Believers. We build a new generation of Christ believers
A GENERATION OF HOPE:
 No more will children live in the wasteland that is today. No more will they have to rely on
worldly things because they have Hope in Christ. And in this, they become a sign of Hope
for others when they ask how these children were brought up with such great values.
“But those who hope in the Lord will renew their strength. They will soar on wings like eagles; they
will run and not grow weary, they will walk and not be faint.” Isaiah 40:31
A GENERATION OF PEACE:
 With Love and a convicted relationship in Christ, children begin to live for peace. Not just
Peace within themselves and Peace within their homes, in their classrooms, in the school
yard and with their friends. They will stand up for those who cant stand up to the violent.
Also Peace throughout their Land and Peace throughout the World.
A GENERATION OF LEADERS:
 As they grow up, no more will they just be bystanders and spectators to the problems of
today. They will stand up for Christ and stand up for His people. Because of their
Confidence in Christ in them, this generation of Leaders will be bold and courageous in
leading His people back to him. Children will grow up not only thinking about what they
want for themselves but how they can be useful for Christ.
”He chose capable men from all Israel and made them leaders of the people, officials over thousands,
hundreds, fifties and tens”. Exodus 18:25
A GENERATION OF SELFLESSNESS:
 No more will they want things to impress others or fall to the temptations of the materialism
of society but they will learn to live for Christ. They will grow to follow the Lords Will in their
lives and choosing careers paths that will be used only to Glorify Him. So in turn helping
not just themselves but all people across the world. Especially in the 3rd World and beyond.
“…even
as I try to please everybody in every way. For I am not seeking my own good but the good of
many, so that they may be saved.” 1 Corinthians 10:33
A GENERATION OF MARTYRS:
 Their Love of God will be so deep that some may even give their lives for the “Cause of
Christ”. Living not of themselves anymore but for his Glory. Whether they are called to be
Priest, Nuns, or Missionaries. Evangelizing and spreading his Love to the ends of the
earth.
”But those who suffer he delivers in their suffering; he speaks to them in their affliction.” Job 36:15
V. CONCLUSION
*Ask the participants to close their eyes and imagine themselves again in the times of their Childhood.
But this time, ask them to imagine KFC in their lives, their Schools, their Church and in their family. As well a
community like CFC aggressively spreading the Lords message of Love and Hope during their time…
*Then get them to ask themselves if that was the case, would this world have been a better place?
The Calling of CFC and specifically for KIDS FOR CHRIST is a special one in bringing Christ’s love
to all. Not just for the CHILDREN of today but also for the world of tomorrow. Jeremiah, Timothy,
Daniel, and David are examples of young people the Lord called to make a change. Today, our
Lord is doing the same. HE is raising the Davids to LEAD his people into the future. Having Kids
for Christ for children now, will only help them bring Christ to their lives as they grow up. KFC will
bring Christ to their hearts before they find Him later on.
Talk 2a: Structure and Roles and Responsibilities.
Begin this session with the activity
ACTIVITY: Build the Tower!
Objective: To get participants to build good team work dynamics through building the
strongest/tallest tower. This will be done through the limitations given and the need for greater
communication.
Explanation:
 Split Participants into groups(by cluster) and assign everyone a task:
-Workers(those who do the hands on building)
-Communicators(those who directly tell the workers what they should be doing)
-Thinkers(those who come up with the strategy of building the tower)
*note: ONLY COMMUNICATORS are allowed to talk to workers and thinkers are only allowed to
speak with communicators. Workers can not speak at all.
 Give out materials and time limits and allow them to work.
 Observe teams to see who starts with a prayer, who obeys rules etc. ALSO monitor groups to
make sure that they are not breaking rules.
 When time is up have each group (Communicators) present each structure then test whose is
the strongest.

INTRODUCTION to Talk:
50/50 Split
In order to enhance the ministry of Kids for Christ, the work must become more dynamic and
exciting. This will come as a result of the combined efforts of the CFC KFC Couple Coordinator
and the YFC KFC Core. It will become a 50/50 split. This will also create a joint accountability for
all activities and happenings within the KFC Area. And through sharing skills, ideas, time and
talent having the CFC KFC Couple Coordinator and YFC KFC CORE serve together, Kids for
Christ is bound for a swift revival.
How?
In planning KFC events within the area, cluster or chapter all service meetings should include the
CFC KFC Couple Coordinator and the YFC KFC Core serving. In this all ideas, concerns and
plans should be given by both CFC and YFC.
The execution of teachings and activities during the KFC event should lie with the YFC KFC Core,
as events tend to thrive more when the Children interact with the Youth.

• Conducts planning, evaluation, fellowship and other activities for the area with YFC KFC Area Program
Heads.
• Supports all YFC Sector, Cluster and Chapter assemblies and activities.
• Monitors KFC membership in the Area.
• Ensures that all CFC KFC Sector or Cluster Coordinators are attending their respective pastoral
households.

• Sets goals and strategies for KFC activities within the sector or cluster (in coordination with CFC KFC Area
Couple Coordinators and YFC KFC Area Program Heads concerned).
• Conducts regular service meetings with YFC KFC Cluster Heads and CFC KFC Chapter Coordinators.
• Conducts service meetings with YFC CC’s and YFC Chapter Heads in the cluster.
• Conducts and oversees planning, preparations, attendance, evaluation for assemblies, meetings,
teachings and other activities in the cluster level.
• Monitors and supports Chapter activities and monitors members’ attendance.
• Attends the CFC Cluster service meeting at least once a month and the CFC Cluster General Assembly or
any CFC Chapter General Assembly.
• Is in constant contact with respective YFC KFC Cluster Heads and CFC KFC Chapter Couple
Coordinators.
• Ensures that all CFC KFC Chapter Coordinators are attending their respective pastoral and service
households within their CFC Chapters.
• Monitors all membership listings within Cluster per Chapter.
• Service in the Kids for Christ ministry should be the primary service and where conflicts in schedules or

CFC-KFC CHAPTER COUPLE COORDINATOR

• A CFC household head which handles a special unit dedicated to KFC and the evangelization of the
children of the Couples for Christ.
• Attends regular weekly pastoral household as a household member of the CFC Unit Head.
• Attends CFC Chapter General Assemblies and promotes all cluster/chapter KFC events to chapter
members.
• Conducts a regular weekly pastoral household and service meetings with CFC household heads under his
household.
• Sets goals and strategies for KFC Chapter activities, in coordination with CFC-KFC Cluster Couple
Coordinators, and the YFC KFC Cluster Heads concerned.
• Conducts and oversees planning, preparations, attendance, evaluation for chapter level KFC activities.
• Conducts regular KFC Parent Forums (in coordination with CFC-KFC Cluster Couple Coordinator and
CFC-KFC Area Couple Coordinator).
• Monitors KFC membership within respective Chapters.
• Gathers newly graduated CLP information from respective chapters for purposes of KFC membership
tracking.
• Is in constant contact with respective CFC KFC Cluster Couple Coordinators and YFC KFC Chapter
teams.
• Gives full support to all YFC KFC Chapter team members logistically and pastorally.
• Service in the Kids for Christ ministry should be the primary service and where conflicts in schedules or
assignments are concerned, KFC service takes priority.
CFC-KFC CHAPTER SUPPORT TEAM -COUPLE COORDINATOR
(SECTOR/CLUSTER LEVEL)
ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
• A CFC member which helps and serves the KFC activities within their Chapter, and works directly with
their own household that is specifically assigned to the Kids for Christ ministry.
• Attends regular weekly pastoral household as a household member of the CFC KFC Chapter Head.
• Attends CFC Chapter General Assemblies and promotes all cluster/chapter KFC events to chapter
members.
• Supports all Chapter-based Kids for Christ Activities and Events within the cycle of Activities.
• Is the source of life support for the KFC Chapter.
• As the opportunity arises, under the guidance of the CFC Chapter head, the KFC chapter support team
member is encouraged to serve in other activities of the CFC chapter (i.e. give talks for a CLP or regular
teachings within the chapter).
• Service in the Kids for Christ ministry should be the primary service and where conflicts in schedules or
assignments are concerned, KFC service takes priority.
Talk Two-B: The Monthly KFC Sessions
I) Intro:
a) The KFC monthly sessions are one of those most basic components of the KFC program.
b) The success of the KFC session will depend largely on the support of that people involved—the
parents, children as well as the KFC team; and the planning that goes behind it.
II) The KFC sessions start with a monthly meeting of the service team to prepare for the KFC
session day itself. In planning the KFC session, we always have to keep in mind the principles
behind the KFC activities. What are these principles?
a) Environment building
1. The KFC session should have an environment where children can enjoy having a
relationship with Jesus Christ through games and activities as well as in the company
of their friends.
2. It is a day devoted to children having fun, learning about faith and developing
friendships.
b) The 4 “F” principles- we want to make sure that the activities in KFC have the following
attributes which we believe will make it viable and more interesting to children.
1. Fun- Have activities which children find exacting and enjoyable
2. Friendship- Find ways to encourage members to build strong friendships with one
another
3. Faith: All activities are geared towards their relationship with God
4. Freedom: The children are respected for what and who they are. They can be trusted
and given responsibilities.
III) The cycle of the KFC sessions
a) The cycle of KFC activities within the month will go as follows.
1st week: Monthly Service meeting
2nd week: KFC Assembly
3rd week: Free weekend (To ensure that the YFC/KFC core get their pasturing)
4th week: Special Events
b) The Cycle of events ensures that there are regular KFC activities happening every month. This
cycle is the basic structure to follow when running KFC in each chapter.
IIII) In addition to the regular KFC Cycle of events, there are also large-scale events that the KFC
ministry will tackle every third month. Some examples are: Sports-fests, talent shows, Christmas
parties, and KFC conference. These events will be utilized to compliment and help the CFC’s work
with the poor. They will provide funds to help ANCOP.
Conclusion:
a) The success of the KFC sessions will depend largely on the support of the
people involved—the parents, children as well as the KFC service team; and
the planning that goes behind it.
b) With a dedicated KFC service team to put the principles and concepts to
practice, God will honor our efforts to have a meaningful KFC session.
TALK THREE: The Heart of a KFC Couple Coordinator
To be effective, the KFC Couple Coordinators must have the heart for the service. They must possess the
following qualities:
a. Men and women of the team - KFC, just like CFC and the other ministries, is teamwork. There are decisions that
need to be carried out as a body and implemented impartially. Coordinators are individually gifted, but the times that
they give up their own likes for the team is an indication that their heart acknowleges God as the leader in the group.
b. With pastoral hearts and minds - They know that everything about God’s work in KFC is spiritual warfare -- all
designed by God to draw the children toward Him, and all contested by the evil one. Coordinators remain vigilant,
always asking the question, “What can I do to bring the children closer to Jesus?” and “How can I protect the children
from the evil one?”
c. With a sense of mission - The KFC Coordinator’s goal is to involve the parents in the mission, getting them to be
more aware of their pastoral duties. They appreciate their role of empowering the CFC parent by helping create the
environment for the children that will bring them closer to God.
d. Selfless and generous - Because it gives them joy to serve God through the little ones who are closest to His
heart, selflessness comes as a second nature to them -- prefering to put the welfare of those they are serving above
their own. They are generous with their time and other resources -- oftentimes not counting the cost, but rather, the joy
in knowing that they have served Him well.
e. Gentle men and women - Coordinators are gentle and encouraging. They are generous in speaking words of
praise rather than words of distrust, doubt or even anger. They focus on what the children can do instead of what they
can’t do. They help create an environment where the children feel they belong.

f. Humble and Steadfast - They have accepted the KFC program as dynamic, and will change as the Holy Spirit
leads. In humility, they know that God’s work in KFC will proceed whether they are a part of it or not. They are grateful
to the Lord for allowing them to participate in His work through KFC. They know that the Christian life and service has
its own difficulties
and trials, and that they should always fix their eyes on Jesus and draw their strength from Him.
Aside from having the heart for the mission of KFC, the KFC couple coordinators are also expected to be :
a. Good examples - Coordinators have given up smoking, negative speech, and other bad habits -- all in the spirit of
being role models. They take care of both their spirit and their body by cultivating a regular prayer life and healthy
working, recreation and eating habits. What they teach the children is consistent with what they do.
b. Creative and flexible - Coordinators are gifted with imagination which they put to good use in trying to meet the
objectives of the KFC program. They are flexible and adapt the activities according to how receptive the children /
parents are to it.
VIII. Conclusion
a. KFC is God’s blessing to CFC.
b. The KFC Chapter Couple Coordinators are true blessings to the community for they are God’s instruments to make
things happen in KFC.
c. Let us pause to marvel at God’s work through His little KFC “angels”. What we will see will be a source of joy as we
realize that we are a part of it. It will also be a source of strength as we realize that all we did was to follow God and
that He honors our efforts.
d. KFC is the work of God. The good news is that He who made it work will be with us always.
3) KFC TEACHINGS
An integral part of the KFC ministry is the monthly KFC gathering. It
is through these gatherings that the Kids for Christ members will be
spiritually nourished as well as learn new and exciting things about
Jesus their savior. A KFC teaching, includes a talk as well as a fun
and educational learning activity for the kids to listen and participate
in. The following are examples of teachings that can be done within
the month that it is appropriate to. In time, a Kids for Christ teaching
track will be provided for all areas of Canada.
Teaching: Sacrifice
Intro
- Begin by asking the kids what they think of when they hear their parents, priests, teachers
etc. talk about lent.
- One of the most important aspects of lent that they might have heard, is the idea of “giving
something up”, otherwise known as fasting or making a sacrifice.
The importance of sacrifice
- In the bible, we see that Jesus while walking in the desert also took the time to fast, “He
(Jesus) fasted for forty days and forty nights, and afterwards he was hungry.” (Matthew
4:2) We might also remember, that it was during this time that the devil tempted him.
However, because fasting is a very powerful form of prayer, and Jesus was fasting from
food AND water, he was able to overcome and say no to all the bad things Satan tried to
make him do. This is what fasting can do for us, during this time of lent, by giving up
something, we are actually acting out a form of prayer, that will help us stay away from sin.
How NOT to fast
- Although fasting is a very useful tool in helping us stay away from sin, it can also be a bad
thing if we do not do it properly. Jesus makes this very clear to us, “When you fast, do not
look gloomy like the high priests. They neglect their appearance, so that they may appear
to others to be fasting. Truly I say to you, they have received their reward. But when you
fast, anoint your head and wash your face, so that you may not appear to be fasting,
except to God who is hidden. And God who sees what is hidden will repay you. (Matthew
6:18)
- When Jesus says this, he means that we should not use fasting as a means to show off.
We should also not be telling everyone or boasting about our fast, because it is between
God and us what we have given up for the season of lent. Instead, Jesus tells us that we
need to make it seem like were not fasting! Acting normally even though we may be giving
up chocolate or something like that.
ACTIVITY TIME
Materials Needed: Toys, Question Cards.
This activity is more of a game, testing their knowledge of what we had just talked about. Put the
kids into groups of 4-5 kids, (if there are less, then put fewer in each group) Each group will get a
number of toys depending on the number that’s in their group. Each group will be asked a question
on the subject of the teaching. Every time a group gets the question right, they will be able to take
a toy from any other group. At the end of about 20 questions (5 questions each group) whichever
group has most toys, will win the game. If a team loses all its toys before the game ends, then it is
automatically eliminated.
Conclusion
-With the season of lent continuing, for one more week, I challenge you guys, if you haven’t
already, to take up a fast! It can be something small for now, like eating chocolates, or drinking
coke, but as you grow older, it can be bigger things, like TV or Video games! Those are the real big
challenges! Let us always remember though, that we should not boast about our fast, and instead,
use it as a powerful tool and prayer, in living out a good Christian life! =)

KFC teaching for the November assemblies
Topic: Saints
Objective: To teach the kids what saints are and why are necessary in our everyday lives. To instill a sense of
appreciation for them and to also to encourage the kids to emulate the saints in there everyday lives.
Intro:
We often hear and see the names of Saints in our lives, whether it be in our school, (which is usually named after a
saint), during church or when we are being taught about them during school. However, what are saints really for? Why
do we pray to them and how can they help us as kids?
Analogy: Saints as our “microphone” to God.”
To help us understand what saints are for and how they can help us, we can look at something as simple as a
microphone. When we use microphones, our voices become louder and people will be able to hear us better. When we
pray to God through saints, our prayers become louder, clearer and stronger, allowing God to hear and answer our
prayers. Also, when we pray to God through Saints, it shows that we really MEAN everything we are praying for
because we are asking saints to pray for us as well.
*After this section the next topic of the teaching, “How Saints can help us” will follow after the short activity.
ACTIVITY TIME
Activity: Matching and memory game of the Saints
-Prior to the activity, read the kids this list of saints slowly and the object they are associated with. Tell them that they
need to remember these in order to win the game.

junior kids just place the cards face up in two columns, one of the names of the Saint and the other of the picture they
are associated to.
-Then ask the kids on each team to go one by one flipping each card one by one. The object of the game is to match
the name of the Saint with the object they are associated with. The first group who correctly matches all the Saints with
their objects wins the game! (For the junior kids, just ask them to match the name of the Saint with the object, if they
don’t remember its ok to help them out)
*After the activity, gather the kids once again and proceed with the next topic, “How saints can help us as kids.”
How saints can help us:
The purpose of the game was to help us know which Saints to pray to at certain situations. For example, when we are
sick we pray to St. Teresa or when were lost, we pray to St. Anthony. Also, Saints can help us because it gives us a
person, who we can look up to and be a good example to us in our everyday lives. For example, St Therese who
became a saint because she was always very happy and generous to people, she lived very simply and loved God, or
St. Vincent De Paul who was one of the very few people who lived during his time that helped the poor! By trying to be
like the saints, we will become better children of God!
Conclusion:
Now that we know more about saints and what they are for, our challenge is to try our best to be like them! But lets not
forger that we can ask God to help us be like the Saints so that we can be better children not only for our parents, but
to God as well! =)
Teaching of May assemblies: Loving our Mothers
Objective: To teach the Kids for Christ, the importance of loving our mothers and how we can love
them back through the example of Jesus.
Intro:
Our mothers love us very much. They make a lot of sacrifices in order to make sure we are happy
and taken care of. The things they do not only show us our mothers love for us, but also God’s
love. (At this time get some kids to name some things that their moms do for them to show them
love) All these things that our moms do for us, from the small things to the big things, are ways that
our moms show our love for us. With that in mind, what can we do to give back to how great and
loving they are? For the answer, we look to Jesus, who also loved his mother very much!
1) We must respect them
Luke 3:46-51 “After three days the found him (Jesus) in the temple, sitting in the midst of the
teachers, listening to them and asking them questions…When his parents saw him, they were
astonished, and his mother said to him, “Son why have you done this to us? Your father and I have
been looking for you with great anxiety.” And He said to them, “Why were you looking for me? Did
you not know I must be in my father’s house? ... He went down with them and came to Nazareth
and was obedient to them.”
In this story we find that Jesus as a young boy was respectful to his mother. Instead of getting mad
at her or replying back rudely, he answered his mother’s questions in a calm manner, and then
immediately left where he was to go with his parents. This shows that even at a young age, we can
take the example of Jesus in respecting our mothers by listening to them, and now answering back
or being rude.
2) We must obey them
John 2:1-5: “When the wine ran short, the mother of Jesus said him, (Jesus) “They have no wine.”
(And) Jesus said to her, “Woman, how does your concern affect me? My hour has not yet come.”
His mother said to the servers, “Do what ever he tells you.” Now there were six stone waters jars
there for Jewish ceremonial washings…Jesus told them (the servers), “Fill the jars with water.”
We see that in this passage, Jesus was obedient to his mother. When Mary wanted Jesus to fill
jars of water with wine, because there was no more to drink, Jesus obeyed her and filled them up.
If it wasn’t for Jesus’ obedience to his mother Mary, the there would have been no more wine for
people to drink. By obeying his mother, Jesus showed that he loved her and honored her request.
ACTIVITY: Mothers day cards! Get all the kids to make their moms, mother’s day cards! To make it
more creative, they can include coupons that say for example, “Good for ONE hug, good for doing
One chore, good for One kiss etc…” These coupons can be redeemed by their mothers and get
the kids to promise that they will do what the coupons says. At the end, get them to keep their
mother’s day cards to give to their mom’s when mother’s day comes along.
Conclusion: Our mothers are very special people that are a very precious gift from God! We must
love, respect and obey them just as Jesus did so that we too can give back to all the great things
our mom’s do for us because they love us. (Refer back to the things the kids said in the beginning)
By loving our moms, we too are showing that we love God are it shows we are very thankful for the
gift of our mothers.
September Teaching: Trusting GOD!
(Before the intro, make sure to recap last months teaching, and see if they still remember their
memory verse: “School is COOL!”)
Intro:
-To begin the talk, ask the kids who is the person that they trust the most! (most will probably say
mom, dad, or best-friend maybe some will say God)
-With our everyday lives, sometimes things will challenge us, or some things will be difficult for
example a homework assignment in school, or a big test. However, we must always remember that
there are always people there that can help us. These can be the people that we said earlier (mom,
dad, brother or sister) but let us not forget God! Who will definitely help us! All we have to do is
trust fully in Him!
Trusting God
Luke 5:4-11
-In this Bible story, Simon Peter was a fisherman who worked hard all day but had lots of trouble
catching fish! No fish were going inside their nets! Without any fish, they could not make any
money to provide for their families and loved ones, Simon Peter was getting a bit worried.
However, when Jesus came and offered to help him, knowing that Jesus was no ordinary man,
Simon Peter trusted and obeyed him, put his nets down in the water and came out with TONS of
fish! Enough to feed all of us here and more! Simon Peter put his trust his Jesus and He helped
him get an abundance of fish!
-We see in this story, that if we simply trust Jesus, He will be able to help us in crazy ways! So an
example of this is in our own lives is when we are presented with something REALLY HARD and
CHALLENGING (ask the kids to give examples of some things they find really hard to do) Jesus
can really help us achieve those difficult tasks as long as we trust in him. An example, would be if
we had a big test! We studied and did our part, but were still scared, so we do a prayer to Jesus,
and we trust that He will help us pass the test and do well then Jesus will certainly help us!
ACTIVITY TIME: The Trust Walk
Materials: Chairs, blindfolds, some rope, anything else that will help make a good obstacle course.
Instructions:



Make an obstacle course using chairs, tables, rope or anything else that you feel will make
the course interesting and at the same time fun. It would be better if the course was made
where the kids cannot initially see it, such as outside or covered by something.
Ask the kids to go in pairs, and from the two of them, ask them to decide which one will
volunteer to do something crazy. However, do not tell them the purpose of why they are
separating each other.
After this, ask the group of kids who were picked as volunteers to leave the room.
GUIDES:
 Then instruct the kids remaining that their job is to guide the blindfolded volunteers through
the obstacle course.
 While the other guides wait for their turn to guide their partners, their job is to distract the
pair of “Walker” and “Guide” by screaming, shouting or shouting out false instructions, but
make sure that it is clear that there must be NO PHYSICAL CONTACT and INSULTS or
they will get in BIG TROUBLE, just screaming and shouting.
WALKERS:
 While outside the room, instruct the walkers they will be blindfolded and made to go
through an obstacle course.
 Let them know that their partner will try their best to help them but instructing them
through it, they just have to TRUST their partner.
 Do not tell them however, that there will be distractions, they just have to trust their
partner.


After each pair of kids complete the course, the CFC/YFC Team may want to change
the course around a little bit to ensure that it is different each time.
After all the kids complete the course, gather them for the conclusion.
CONCLUSION: Trusting God Despite Distractions
(Ask the kids who they though was the “PERSON” and who was “GOD” in the activity)
-As we learned from the activity there are a lot of distractions that can discourage us from trusting
God. For example, if during a big test, a friend of ours jokingly says that the test is SUPER HARD,
or sometimes some people will say we cannot do something. However, as you all have seen as
long as we trust God who IS our guide we will certainly achieve our goals and do anything that we
set our minds to!
(End with a “repeat after me” prayer about trusting God)

Teaching Giving and Sharing
Intro
-Begin by asking the kids what they got this Christmas season. Whether it be toys, books, clothes,
anything that they received as gifts.
-When we receive these gifts, we feel happy. However, there is something that can make us
happier than receiving, it is GIVING.
The importance of giving
-Giving to others is important, because Jesus asks us to help each other, all our brothers and
sisters in Christ. By giving, we are able to follow Jesus’ teachings in loving our neighbor. Giving is
an act of love. It does not matter what we give, whether it be our time, our money or even sharing
what we have, as long as we do it without expecting anything in return, that is very important.
Giving to the poor
-Not only is good to help others, but it is even better to help those who are not as lucky as we are.
We know that there are a lot of poor people in the world, and Jesus asks us to especially help them
since they are the ones that need our help the most. There are children who do not have the things
we have, so lets show how thankful we are to God by helping our less fortunate brothers and
sisters. A good example of this in the Bible is Zaccheus, who promised Jesus that he “would sell
half my goods and give it to the poor.” (Luke 19:8)
ACTIVITY TIME
-Before the activity, explain to the kids the concept of ANCOP and the purpose of the box they are
making.
ANCOP-Answering the Cry of the Poor
-Now that we know that it is better to give that to receive, where do start? Luckily, there are many
ways available to us to be able to help our less fortunate brothers and sisters. For example we
have ANCOP. Through this organization, we can help our poor brothers and sisters in around the
world, by giving our time and money, in helping them build houses for them to live in, allowing the
kids to be able to eat, study and eventually have all the things that make us happy!

Conclusion
-Now that we know WHY giving is important, and WHO we can give to, lets us always remember to
keep the words of Jesus in our hearts as we take this piggy bank home with us.

1. Our fathers love us unconditionally
Who knows the story of the prodigal son?
There was a man named Isaac who had two sons, and their family lived on a farm. The older son
was a hard worker on the farm, while the younger son wanted to focus more on living a happy, and
easy-going life. The younger son, Jori, had never seen what was beyond the farm, and wanted to
explore. So, he asked his father for his half of the money that he would inherit when his father dies.
Isaac knew that it wasn't the best idea, but he knew that if he didnn't give the money that Jori son
may start to disobey him. When Isaac gave the money, Jori was full of excitement and left to spend
it and live life happily.
Jori's happiness ended at one point, when he lost all his money. He spent two days walking home
and starved. When he came home, his father was so happy to see him. Then Jori said, “Father, I
am no longer worthy to be called your son. I have wasted the inheritance you gave me and have
nothing to show for it but memories that make me ashamed of myself. Please allow me to work on
your farm as a hired hand and I’ll be a good workman for you.” The father said, “You are still my
son. You will be treated as my son, and I will be delighted to have you work with us on the farm as
a family once again.”
This story shows the attitude of the Lord towards us as His children. We aren't prefect, so we make
mistakes and make bad decisions, just like Jori did. Although Jori did what he did, his father, Isaac,
did not resent him or isolate him from the familiy because he loves him, even if he spent all the
inheritance his father gave him. When we make mistakes or bad decisions, God does not disown
us for that because he loves us unconditionally.
2. We must respect and obey them.

Activity
[1] Share
Get kids into groups of 5 or more and have a KFC CORE member facilitate each group. Have Kids
take turns sharing the following question:
What is your father/step father or favorite uncle’s name?
What does he love to do all the time?
Basically get children to talk about their dads/uncles and share with each other about them.
[2] Draw
Give them paper and get them to draw their fathers/uncles doing their favorite thing (i.e. fishing,
watching TV, cooking etc.)
[3] Write
Now ask the children what are the things they love about him (i.e. he is funny, he is nice to your
mom etc.)
Now get kids to write those things on the back of the picture.
At the end of the activity give the kids envelopes to put their pictures inside and to give to their
dads for father’s day!
Goal: to get kids to really sit down and think about what they love about their fathers and to share
with other kids. This will really help the kids appreciate their fathers before Fathers day.

Ministry. They allow the children to express their
love of God through music. This section provides
