We are very good with the nuts and bolts of supply chain management. To master it, though, we must learn to balance the management of the hard part and the leadership of the soft, or people, part. As an engineer moving up through the management ranks of HP, Ed Oakley quickly realized the importance and the challenge of the people side of the equation. The engineer in him decided there had to be a simple, practical approach for bringing out the best in his people and focusing that talent on the needs of the organization. This keynote introduces his learnings, which have been proven many times all over the world, and his breakout session will get more into application. 9:30 – 10:00 a.m. Networking Break in Exhibition Hall Monday, March 19 SCOR Applications for Today’s Global Needs Breakout Sessions Run Concurrently – Please choose one to attend New Strategies for Performance PEOPLE: Managing Management: Leadership, Globalization and Metrics & Education, Complexity Benchmarking Chairs: Chairs: Mary Scheibner Director, Business Process Optimization CoE BASF Corporation Richard Godinez VP - Supply Chain Excellence Practice Group Auxis Management & Technology Solutions 10:00 – 10:50 a.m. SCOR and IT Joseph Francis SCC CTO Rao Panchalavarapu Senior Engineer Schneider Logistics Richard J Sherman WorldWide Industry Manager - Supply Chain Enterprise Partner Group Microsoft Corporation Chairs: Praful Karanth Senior Manager Crowe Chizek and Company LLC Srini Bangalore Strategy and Operations Manufacturing Deloitte Consulting LLP Organizational Design and Change Management Chairs: Chairs: Paul Nuzum Iain Clarke Director Supply Chain Development Coors Brewing Company 11:00 – 11:50 a.m. Top Ten Predictions for Global Supply Chains in 2007 Daniel Vital Chiarini Machado, M.Sc. Why do companies continue to struggle with this challenge, despite enormous advances in technology and concepts? Dr. Fisher’s belief is that they focus too much on adopting the latest ideas or technology, instead of properly understanding the unique characteristics of each of their businesses, and then designing the ideal supply chain for each situation. Dr. Fisher will describe a framework developed to enable companies to do this, and illustrate its application in industries as diverse as food, fashion apparel and vehicles. Effective supply chain management is instrumental in growing revenue and reducing cost. His framework requires a company to ask in each situation which is the greater priority: growing revenue or reducing cost? 9:30 – 9:45 a.m. - Announce Supply-Chain Council Awards for Excellence in Supply Chain Operations and Management Winners Dave Malenfant Event Chair 10:00 – 10:50 a.m. SCOR and IT Joseph Francis SCC CTO Breakout Sessions Run Concurrently– Please choose one to attend 10:00 – 10:50 a.m. 10:00 – 10:50 a.m. 10:00 – 10:50 a.m. Supply Chain – An Building a “FamilyDeveloping and Essential Ingredient Tree” of Metrics Training Mid-Level in Successful New Distribution Business and New Scott L. Karrenbauer President and a Founding Director Insight, Inc Supply Chain Management…the words are a freely exchanged contemporary coin of the realm. Its importance is beyond question, its benefits tangible and substantial, yet for most firms practice lags decades behind theory. Why? What is the evolutionary path that has brought the profession to its current status? Why have so many firms stalled along the way and failed to realize its potential? What can be done to address the problem? The solution depends critically on (1) linking SCM explicitly to corporate strategy and goals so as to gain the essential attention and support of senior executives, and (2) understanding how Wall Street is both a catalyst and a serious impediment to progress. Only then are we in a position to address the most critical issues of our era: supply chain vulnerability and corporate risk management. Finally, if we think creatively, could we envision a future for SCM that extends its relevance to larger societal and international political issues, a role that goes beyond even that envisioned by leading experts today? 11:30 a.m. Closing Ceremony and Selection of Raffle Winner!
