2°3 - Homework – to be handed on December, 10th.
"Prince of Peace" :
Write an imitative poem about a famous person , who , like Andrew Carnegie, went from
rags to riches and achieved the American Dream .
Follow these guidelines :
- Your poem will only have two parts.
- Your poem will start with the name of the celebrity .
- In the first part , your poem will tell us about the origin of the famous person that you chose
to write about, and the various jobs he or she did before becoming famous .
- the second part will begin with an adverb ( not necessarily " always"), which will be repeated
towards the end .
- the second part will contain the same verbs repeated several times ( not necessarily " believed"
and " had" (confidence in).
- it will also contain several lines starting with the name of your famous character.
- in the last line , you will give a conclusion .
-give a title to your poem .
- check the pronunciation of the words that you will look up in the dictionary and write it next to
the words. It will come in useful when you recite your poem !

- Dos Passos wrote fairly short sentences .
