Police Brutality Paper Police brutality has been an issue as long as we have entrusted power and enforcement of the law to humans. In psychology there have been many experiments trying to understand this. While there are thousands of police officers who do their job to protect the citizens of the country everyday, and do it very well, there are a select few who garner all of the attention. Just in the summer of 2012 there was an instance in Saginaw of police brutality where the officers were not convicted of any crimes. Today you are researching a police brutality case. I have four listed below for you. You are free to select any other case you want as long as it deals with police brutality. For each of the four, I have 3 articles that you will need to read. Then, write a paper response to the situation you selected. Here are some ideas of what to include: History of Police Brutality Events Laws involved Police instructions Why is this considered brutality? Public Response Criminal Charges (if any) Outcome of Trial Response to Trial Your paper needs to be 12 point font, double spaced. It should be around 1 1/2 – 3 pages. If you think you might need more to write be sure to let me know. If you need to use outside sources, be sure to reference these. If you are using quotes from an article, make sure you use quotations. Ex. (I couldn't believe the public response from the Argus-Press as Mr. Jones reported that “We all want to big, big stars. But we’ve got different reasons for that.” (Argus-Press). We will be in the library working on a later date as well. We will discuss due date then. This paper will be worth 30 points.
