Rona and the moon
One night Rona and her kids were going to sleep but her kids
were so thirsty. They said to Rona can you go and get some
water. Rona said ok. So she went to get some water.
Marama, the moon was giving Rona light. When Marama went
behind a cloud and Rona could not see where she was going.
Marama, Marama come back Rona shouted . Just then Rona
tripped over a ngaio tree root. Marama you stupid moon!
Rona was very angry, so was Marama . Marama said don’t
talk to me like that! Marama grabbed Rona and Rona
grabbed the ngaio tree but Marama was too strong.
He ripped the roots out and pulled her into the sky. Rona said
let me go horrid moon. Her kids were still calling get us some
water. Rona said I can’t I’m up here. Sometimes you see
Rona still up there with the ngaio tree.
