CREATIVE WRITING FINAL PORTFOLIO
PURPOSE: To showcase your writing talents and provide evidence that you are capable
of the following:
1.
Writing in various genres.
2.
Editing and revisions
3.
Creative and original thought
4.
Presenting writing in the proper format required by publishers.
REQUIREMENTS:
1.
Your portfolio must include a minimum of 3000 words. (Word tallies
ARE NOT required – It’s distracting)
2.
Must include a minimum of 3 poems, one graphic piece
(comic/drawing/etc. with writing), one fiction/novel sample piece and 1
script piece.
3.
Each piece must be typed on a separate piece of paper. Ex. Please do not
type up 2 poems on 1 sheet of paper. For prose pieces, please include
page numbers as well as headers.
4.
All prose pieces must use size 12 Times font and be double - spaced.
5.
A table of contents is required.
6.
Include a self-evaluation for each piece.
7.
Must include your Pet Project
8.
NO PIECES THAT WERE INCLUDED IN YOUR MIDTERM
PORTFOLIO MAY BE SUBMITTED IN THIS PORTFOLIO. YOU
MAY, HOWEVER, INCLUDE PIECES WHICH ARE ADDITIONS TO
PIECES FROM YOUR MIDTERM PORTFOLIO (example – you have
added a page or chapter to a fiction piece). If you did not submit a
midterm portfolio, you can use any work from this semester.
EVALUATION is based upon:
1.
Quality of expression.
2.
Mechanical correctness.
3.
Fulfillment of all above requirements.
4.
Creativity and originality
5.
Diversity
