Dutchman’s Pizza presents Nov 21 Turkey Bash Softball Tournament
Deadline to pay for and submit team registration is November 10, 2009
1. All Gilroy City and City Parks and Recreation laws, rules, and guidelines will be enforced. Any violations
can and will result in player/team ejection and/or disqualification from the tournament.
2. Alcohol consumption will be restricted to designated areas as outlined by the City of Gilroy Parks and
Recreation Department.
3. Any serious disruption, foul language, or fighting will result in player/team ejection and/or disqualification
from this and future tournaments. The will be zero tolerance in this matter.
4. Tournament style will be Double elimination with pitch height at 6 to 10 feet maximum.
5. Tournament limited to 12 teams and 12 Team members maximum.
6. All teams must be ‘E’ caliber with no more than 3 ‘D’ caliber players per team.
7. Each game lasts seven (7) innings or 60 minutes, whichever comes first.
8. The team must have at least eight (8) players on the field to start a game.
9. The umpire will not start an inning after 55 minutes from the start of the game, unless the inning
ends in a tie.
10. There is a 15 run rule after 5 complete innings.
11. All batters start with a 1 and 1 count with no fouls to give.
12. No leading off the bases.
13. Only 1 courtesy runner per inning per team. Must first check in with umpire.
14. If time expires and the game is tied the last person who made the out of the previous inning will
start at 2nd base. If the game is still tied after that inning the last person who made the out of the
previous inning will start at 3rd base and will continue until there is a winner.
15. Umpire decides who the Home team is by a coin toss.
16. In the championship game the undefeated team is home team. If second game is required then there
is a coin toss.
17. NSA rules and all bats except ULTRA’s are allowed.
18. Any game called by the Coordinator due to time, weather, darkness, etc. is considered complete if
four (4) innings have been completed.
19. Any dispute with the umpires may result in immediate ejection of the player and his/her team.
Awards:
ALL FULLY PAID TEAMS WILL RECEIVE A COUPON FOR 3 LARGE PIZZAS AT DUTCHMAN’S PIZZA.
COUPON IS ONLY VALID ON NOVEMBER 21, 2009.
1st Place: 1st Place Trophy, one turkey and a 2009 Turkey Bash T-Shirt for each team player, a Case of Corona Beer
at Dutchman’s Pizza.
2nd Place: 2nd Place Trophy and 2009 Turkey Bash T-Shirts. A Case of Corona Beer at Dutchman’s Pizza.
3rd Place: 3rd Place Trophy and a Case of Corona Beer at Dutchman’s Pizza.
All Awards will be given out at Dutchman’s Pizza on that day November 21, 2009 following the tournament.

Each player must read and agree to the following before registering on the other side.
I, the undersigned player, acknowledge, agree and understand that:
Voluntarily and of my own free will, I elect to participate as a member of the softball team and
tournament indicated below.
I understand that there are certain risks and hazards involved in participating in softball that may
result in injury or death to me or other players, including, but not limited to those hazards
associated with weather conditions, playing conditions equipment and other participants.
I understand that sliding into base is dangerous to me and to other players and may result in
serious injury or death.
I understand that the very nature of the game of softball is hazardous and risky, including, but not
limited to, the acts of pitching, throwing, fielding, and catching of the ball, the swinging of the bat,
running, jumping, stretching, sliding, diving, and collisions with other players and with stationary
objects, all of which can cause serious injury or death to me and to other players.
Further, I, the undersigned player, agree that in consideration for the right to play as a member of
the team designated below and in consideration for permission to play on the fields arranged for
by the team or Tournament Director:
I voluntarily elect to accept and assume all risks of injury incurred or suffered by me:
(a) While practicing or playing in the tournament and as a member of the team so designated,
(b) While serving in a non-playing capacity as a team member during practice or play by other
teams or by other players on my team,
(c) While on or upon the premises of any and all of the fields arranged for by my team or league
for practice or play.
I release, discharge and agree not to sue the team and/or the City of Gilroy, Dutchman’s Pizza,
Inc., the field owner or other entity designated below, the Amateur Softball Association of
America, or their owners, officers, agents, servants, associations, employees, or any person or
entity connected with the team, tournament, or field owners for any claim, damages, costs or cause
of action which I have, or may in the future have, as a result of injuries or damages sustained or
incurred by me from whatever cause including but not limited to the negligence, breach of
contract or wrongful conduct of the parties hereby released.
