AIR CONDITIONING: in the living and in one of the apartments on the ground
floor you will find air conditioning.
ANTI-DROWNING ALARM: around the pool is a LOUD anti-drowning alarm that gives
a signal if someone is close to the pool (and the sensors); although we
normally put the alarm “on”, you might wish - at your own risk - to turn the
ALARM off by SWITCHING THE BUTTON NEXT TO THE TECHNICAL ROOM.
BAR “LE PALI”: In the corner of “La Lauve” you will find at the cross road of
four valleys a tremendously authentic little Bar “Le Pali” for the locals,
where you can have friendly drinks. The water mill (ask the owner Jean-Michel
to show it) used to be powered by the mill stream of La Lauve. This is a great
place if you like the extraordinary.
BLUE LAGOON: after diagonally crossing the street from Bar “Le Pali” you will
find a swimming pool in the river, where you and /or your dog can go for a
cooling dip.
BBQ: you will find a BBQ in the house with charcoal, which you are free to
use.
BINOCULAR: spot the grass lands, especially in the far left side in the corner
at sunrise or at sunset with a cocktail in your hand, a roe deer, or see a fox
in the sun, an eagle in the air or be amazed by the look of the moon in a
further dark environment.
CANYONING: CLOSE TO LA LAUVE YOU CAN MAKE A CANYONING TOUR, WHICH TAKES
APPROX. FIVE HOURS; IT IS HIGHLY RECOMMENDED TO DO THIS WITH A GUIDE; SEE

CARS: except for loading and unloading next to the house all cars are to be
parked next to the big barn, since we would like the place in front of the
house to become a LAWN for amusement and play. See as well GARAGE & CAR REPAIR
hereunder.
CAR FUEL: the cheapest station is next to Carrefour supermarket in PugetTheniers.
CHECK IN: the check in time is 4 o'clock; upon you arrival you will make a
tour through the house, and if all is in order please sign the acceptance
letter ACCEPTANCE LETTER, and also complete and sign a Registration Form and
liability waiver REGISTRATION FORM.
CHECK OUT: the check out 10 o'clock, after a tour is made and all is returned
in good shape for which will be signed ACCEPTANCE LETTER on behalf of the
owner, after which the guarantee/deposit will be returned to your bank
account; any remarks will be signed by both parties.
CHRISTMAS AT ROMANTIC-LOUVETEAUX-EN-PROVENCE : during the winter holiday
season the house is converted into a cozy winter lodge decorated in a
traditional Christmas style.
CLEANING: although we agreed on cleaning only upon your departure, we might
want to clean some rooms during your stay, when you are absent; in case you
object to this, please send a SMS/TEXT telling so to +31617235922; in various
places in the house you will find a yellow sticker block, please stick a page
where attention (cleaning or repair) is needed.
COMPUTER: you are free to use the laptop and print within reason.

DOGS: "La Lauve" is for the biggest part a reserve and a refuge for wildlife,
since no hunting takes place; although we encourage you to bring your dogs,
please respect the fact that La Lauve is a reserve and refuge for wildlife.
Please discourage any chasing of wildlife.
DISH WASHER: you will find the manual for the Dish Washer (Whirlpool ADP6519)
under or next to the hi-fi system.
DRINKING WATER: all water comes from our own "La Lauve" mountain spring, which
water is of excellent quality (DOCUMENT); however in case you prefer to drink
bottled water, please do not hesitate to ask for a big bottle of factory
bottled water.
DVD player: this works with the usual “stop/play/pause” buttons.
ECOLODGE: you might want to ask for a guided tour to Romantic-Ecolodge-enProvence (as well known as “Le Haut Moulin” and “Larepe”).
ENTREVAUX: a nearby village not to be missed (see http://www.entrevaux.info/).
FIRE FIGHTING EQUIPMENT: in the house you will find powder fire extinguishers
in the main corridor and in the upper (master’s) bedroom.
FIRE PLACES & GEL POTS: in the Pool and Valley Apartments we have fire places
that work with gel pots. Simply remove the cap of the pot, and light with a
match. This kind of fire places does not need a chimney. When you wish to STOP
the fire, simply place the cap on the gel pot.
FIRE PLACES & WOOD: the house has two fireplaces that burn wood; upon your
arrival enough wood will be stocked for your stay; encourage the fire with
pieces of "Pyroblock" next to the fire place; place two wood logs on the
burning “Pyroblock” to start the fire.
GARAGE & CAR REPAIR: a universal garage can be found in Puget-Theniers; after
crossing the bridge over the Var river, turn right and after a couple of
hundred meters you will find Mr Kucinic’s garage and his Total gas station
(T +33493050011).
GAS FOR COOKING: in case the gas reservoir is empty please send a SMS/Text to
+31617235922 after which replacement will be organized.
GOODIES: upon your arrival you will find some "goodies" in order to make you
feel welcome; these are complimentary.
GORGES DU CIAN: a beautiful car ride (La Lauve->Puget-Theniers->Pont du
Cians/Touët-sur-Var->Beuil->Valberg) through one of the most beautiful canyons
of Europe; drive back through the equally overwhelming canyons of Gorges du
Daluis
(Valberg->Guillaume->Entrevaux->Puget-Theniers->La
Lauve)

HOT WATER: the house has enough hot water for all; when a-typical large
quantity of hot water is used, please send a SMS/Text to +31617235922.
INDIAN SUMMER: if you are lucky you can enjoy the spectacular foliage in La
Lauve during the warm and sunny autumn season, and watch and hear the deer
burling in the Alps near Chateauneuf-d’Entraunes in the National Park Le
Mercantour.
IRON: you can find an Iron next to the washing machine (see washing machine)
INTERNET: there is free WIFI internet; it is an unsecured network, so no pass
word is necessary; occasionally internet fails in which case there is no Other
alternative than to wait until the connection is restored.
KEYS: upon your arrival you will get a key of a key box with all keys, clearly
labeled, of the house including two front door keys, upon your departure
please put all keys back in the box, please. In case you lost a key please

LAUNDRY: see washing machine.
MINI TRACTORS: at La Lauve we HAVE SOME mini-tractors with trailers which are
free to use after completing attached form Attached Form On La Lauve. Ask
locally which trails are manageable, since rain may destroy well maintained
dirt roads overnight. Please refer to the tile MINI TRACTORS & SAFARIS on the
desktop. Combine a safari with a nice picnic in the sun or have drinks at
sunset with nice panoramas. Mini tractors, although low on the wheels, are not
always stable in mountainous area with uneven paths as on La Lauve, so can be
dangerous in use; therefore you will have to sign an indemnity before as this
will be at your own risk.
MOBILE PHONE: normally there is a good signal, sometimes - temporarily - the
signal is weak in which case you have to wait until it is of good quality
again. In case your own mobile phone is out of order, ask to borrow one of
ours (SMS/Text +31617235922).
MOUNTAINEERING & CANYONING: please check with the regional Tourist

MOUNTAIN WATER SPRING:La Lauve has its own mountain spring, which supplies the
water for all houses and the pool; this pure water straight from the nature is
of extremely good quality ANALYSIS REPORT WELL WATER; however in case you
prefer to drink factory bottled water, please do not hesitate to ask for a big
bottle of water.

SKIING: in the winter season ski-ing is done in many ski-resorts in the area;
the closest is Valberg (http://www.valberg.com/) at 36 km's from PugetTheniers.
SKYPE: on the desktop of the computer you will find the tile SKYPE, where you
can Skype with your family, friends and with us if you need assistance (after
you sent a SMS/text to +31617235922); how to use Skype can be found at

SMOKING: smoking is only allowed outside, since we have a strict no-smoking
policy within the house.

SPRING: "La Lauve" knows a warm spring, and with the awakening nature La Lauve
is a special place to be and will be an experience not to be forgotten.
SWIMMING POOL: during the swimming season outside the summer period the pool
is heated to 23 degrees with wood harvested at La Lauve together with solar
energy. Every night the pool will be covered with a blue insulation blanket,
which will be removed in the morning. Next to regular filtering a robot cleans
the pool thoroughly. It is no problem to swim while the robot is in the water.
The pool is filled and refreshed from our own "La Lauve" mountain spring. See

TOURIST INFORMATION: the weekly programs in the area you can find by going to
the tile WEEKLY PROGRAM and CAR/HIKES and MULTI-LINGUAL "PROVENCE" TRAVEL
GUIDES on the desktop of the computer, search the brochure display in the hall
or visit the very well stocked regional Tourist Office in Puget-Theniers; do
not forget to make train ride on the well-known narrow gauge line "Ligne de
Pigne", of which the official name is Chemin de Fer de Provence (see
http://www.trainprovence.com/) and visit nice places (they have hop off hop on
arrangements) along the line, and visit the picturesque nearby village of
Entrevaux.
TELEVISION: a wide selection of international channels can be chosen. The
channels and the manual for the TV can be found next to the TV.
VIA FERRATTA: « Les Demoiselles du Castagnet » a sensational thrilling nearby
climbing experience (http://viaferratafr.free.fr/via-ferrata.php?via=79) for the brave
and courageous amongst you; although all the time secured on cables (=Ferrata)
this is only for the sportive and fit, and preferably should be done with a
guide unless experienced in mountaineering (see regional Tourist Office in
Puget-Theniers; http://www.provence-val-dazur.com/ ).
WASHING MACHINE & DRYER: located, together with the shop for a selection of
food and drinks, opposite romantic-louveteaux-en-provence.
WASTE: the plastic bags with waste and litter can be deposited in the communal
containers along the "route departemental" to Puget-Theniers.
WILDLIFE: "La Lauve" is for the biggest part a reserve and a refuge for
wildlife, since no hunting takes place; although we encourage you to bring
your dogs, please respect the fact that La Lauve is a reserve and refuge for
wildlife. Please discourage any chasing of wildlife.
WINTERWONDERLAND: although La Lauve only has occasionally snow, it often has
sunny days, the intimacy of being in an old country home with open fire places
attracts people, especially since Romantic-Louveteaux-en-Provence is converted
during the months December, January, February and March in a cozy winter home
ideal for family gatherings, as well during the holiday season; see also SKIING and “Christmas at Romantic-Louveteaux-en-Provence” above.
WOOD OVEN: behind the house you will find a centuries old well functioning old
Provencal wood oven; in case you wish to try and make your own pizza. Bread or
the “pissaladière”, the regional pizza-styled specialty you will have to give
it a try yourself, and perhaps inform us about your experience, so that we
gradually all can learn from this old Provencal custom.
