Each speaker that comes in to talk about the topics may bring an article for your project. These articles can
count toward one of the articles you need for that section. Ex. – Kraig Noble, Court Case handout, Legal Issues.
You can also use the government regulation Current Event Article as one for the Government Impact section.
Attach a copy of the articles referenced to the applicable journal page.
Part III- After each article, you will need to include a typed reflection page. The reflection should be double
spaced, one inch margins, Times New Roman, and 12 pt font.
Reflection – The reflection CANNOT be copied and pasted from the article or another source!!! Remember
this is an individual project.
Write a one-page typed reflection that includes:
 Header ( view – header/footer)
o Your name – line 1
o Name of topic – line 2
o Date typed – line 3

A one-paragraph summary of the article
o A summary is a shortened version of the original.
o The main purpose of such a simplification is to highlight the major points from the original
article. A summary clearly expresses the main idea of a text and often contains any definitions
of important words in the text.
o The target is to help the audience get the gist in a short period of time.
o The summary is the article paraphrased with new words without quotations from the text. It
does NOT use the original words of the article’s author.
o When you write a summary, you first look for the most important ideas.
o Then, you then put all the main ideas together, in a logical order.
o A summary does NOT express the reader's opinion.

A one-paragraph description of how that current event affects businesses (either directly or indirectly).
o Discuss the factor that is addressed in the article.
o Relate the article to the information covered in class about the topic. (Use your notes for this
part)

Work Cited
o Please use correct formatting.
o Refer back to the Starbuck report for more assistance.
o Single space the work cited section of the reflection.
Due Date –
 All items of the project are due on Friday, November 17, 2010 at 3:00 pm
