Art I Research Assignment Project Requirements Due Date: Power Point/Artwork/Sketchbook Friday, March 8, 2013 Lab Session Dates: 1-22-13 through 1-25-13 The Art Research Project has three requirements: An artwork composition; Sketchbook work; and a Power Point Presentation. Artwork: Each student is responsible for creating a quality artwork reflecting his/her artist/movement choice and is to be completed on his/her own time. Each student will choose an object as subject matter to be approved by the teacher. For example: pencil sharpener, bird, musical instrument etc. This object will be the subject matter (focal point) for your composition. The composition will be focused on the object chosen by the student. The emphasis of your piece is to reflect the artists’ style and technique. The artwork is to be complete and firmly based on an in-depth study of the artist/movement. Choices will be due before the first lab session - (choices beyond the proposed list will be discussed on a case-by-case basis) Size requirements: Canvas—no smaller than 11 x 14 Paper—no smaller than 12 x 18 Any 3-dimensional product will be discussed on a case by case basis.
