2016 ARTWORK/ESSAY CONTEST RULES The Artwork/Essay Contests provide an opportunity for students and teachers to fully integrate the Sharing Brings Hope Consolidated Charitable Campaign into their curriculum. The Artwork Contest is for students enrolled in LAUSD elementary and early education centers. The Essay Contest is for students enrolled in LAUSD middle, high and adult schools. Prizes will be awarded to 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place winners for the artwork contest. Prizes will be awarded to 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place winners for the essay contests. Artwork Contest Rules: Student must be enrolled in a LAUSD elementary school or early education center Should embody the campaign theme: “Sharing Brings Hope” Must be two or three-dimensional artwork Must be an original work All entries must be received by Friday, April 8, 2016, 5:00 pm All entries must have an attached entry form, with legible contact information Artwork should be submitted via mail or delivered to the following address: Attn: Harry Fulmore, UNCF, 3699 Wilshire Blvd., Ste, 675, Los Angeles, CA 90010 Essay Contest Rules: Student must be enrolled in a LAUSD middle, high, or adult school Middle school essays must be 200 to 400 words High school essays must be 300 to 500 words Adult school essays must be 400 to 600 Must be original work Should embody the campaign theme: “Sharing Brings Hope” All entries must have an attached entry form, with legible contact information Essays should be submitted via email or delivered: Attn: Harry Fulmore, UNCF, 3699 Wilshire Blvd., Ste. 675, Los Angeles, CA 90010 Possible topics include: o A time that you gave something of value o What does volunteering mean to you o A time that you or someone you know received something from a charity The Contest – Promotion, Evaluation, and Recognition: Promote the contest at your school site when student coin envelopes are being distributed.
