BODY PARAGRAPH – SAMPLE
Point by Point – Elementary Teacher and Police Officer
One of the reasons that I want to work in law enforcement is that there is a
great deal of variety on the job. Every day there is a new challenge, a new
problem, a new situation. Some days police officers work with community
members in a forum to help clean up a neighborhood (“Law Enforcement”).
Another day, the police officer will patrol a neighborhood, helping out citizens and
being alert for crime or danger to the community (“Law Enforcement”). Becoming
a teacher is rather similar to that. Teachers work with students, parents, other
teachers, and other staff (“Elementary School”). Elementary teachers often
teach the core subjects of English, mathematics, science, and social studies
while specialists will work with students on physical education, art, and music
(“Elementary School”). Each day is a new topic and trying to bring that to life for
students would provide a lot of variety each day. One of the best things about
being a teacher, according to Debbie is knowing she has done a good job
because “the students are interested and ask a lot of questions” (Elementary
School”).
