This is their first book report for the year. This report will be a short book report using a form and we will work on writing it in class. They may need to bring this home for a re-write or if they don’t finish it in classwork time.
“Most of the writing will be done in class, although I encourage them to rewrite it at home after reading it to someone so that the student can hear what it sounds like.
These are to be a simple, short book report so students are assigned to do the editing.”

The final copy will be due September 25, 2015.
The folllowing is a description about the book the students are reading : “A young girl in a family of migrant workers learns important lessons about friendship, honesty, obedience, and the Best Friend of all. (Used for language book report in grade 5.)
