Extra Credit Assignment English 11: Banned Books Assignment For up to 10 points of extra credit, you can complete the following assignment: 1. Watch ONE of the films listed here in connection to your SSR Banned Book. For most of you, that will be the movie version of your book. 2. Some of the films may be rated R—please get your parent’s permission before viewing these OR you may choose the other option. Note: Each book has a NON-rated R choice. 3. Take notes while you watch. 4. You may watch together with people in class but please complete your response individually. 5. Write a 600-700 word, typed response (double spaced). You may use the questions listed below to help you get started. You do not need to answer every question. Please include the title of your book and the movie you watched somewhere in your reflection. What connections did you see between the film and topics/issues/themes addressed in class? What scene had the greatest impact on you in the film and why? Which of the characters did you most identify with? Why? What did you think of the overall portrayal of book in the film? How did it compare to your understanding of the characters and the plot?
