INTERNET USE POLICY
We take great pride in the services we provide at Climax-Shelly school. Our school is wired
and connected to the Internet, which is a connection of thousands of computer networks. This can
provide our students access to information that would otherwise be unavailable to them.
The District is not responsible for information available from other computer systems, which
could present some problems. There is information not appropriate for an educational setting; and
we do not support or condone the use of these types of materials and will not allow the use of such
materials in our school environment. The Climax-Shelly School District 592 reserves the right to
monitor all electronic communications in accordance with Policy #97081805.
We believe that everyone needs to share responsibility in the education of our children. The
school staff will take an active role in ensuring that students will understand and have skills needed to
use the Internet in an appropriate manner. Parents also share responsibility by teaching their
children the standards they should follow when using these informational sources. The students will
be expected to follow the guidelines set forth in this Use-Policy. The use of this system shall be
consistent with district policy, state laws, and federal laws.
This policy outlines the guidelines for acceptable use, prohibited use, penalties for violations of
the policy, and a student-access contract to be signed by the student and parents. The school
administration reserves the right to determine what is appropriate on such items that may not be
mentioned in the guidelines.
