To put it in the clinic, simply imagine it going on between a male dentist and a female hygienist. (This would be more common arrangement, but it could be reversed). Or it could happen between a dentist and the receptionist, or lab tech, etc. Case 11.5 Facial Discrimination An interesting exercise! Instead of internships, imagine that you are interviewing for a hygienist or a receptionist. Or perhaps you are interviewing college students who are interested in shadowing in your clinic. What role would looks play? What if the person had questionable oral hygiene?
