Homework for the week of
February 1, 2016
***FEBRUARY BOOK ORDERS WILL COME HOME THIS WEEK
AND WILL BE DUE ON FEB.9th**

Our 100th Day of school will be Wednesday, February 10th. The children will
wear their 100th Day Fashion Creations to school that day. A letter was sent
home last week.
We will also celebrate Valentine’s Day and Beach Day (schoolwide) on Friday,
Feb. 12th. The children can dress for Beach Day (no bathing suits or flip
flops). A letter will be sent home from Mr. Ciuffo.
Spelling review words: “cute” and “nose”
Challenge words: “February” and “Valentine”
Monday 2/1
 New vocabulary words- Cut and paste the new vocabulary
words and words with “-ook” and “-ood” on to index cards.
Practice all of your words.
 Math- “Counting with Corky” worksheet (in your folder)

 Groundhog Writing
**Tomorrow is Groundhog’s Day. Try to watch the news tomorrow
morning to see if the groundhog sees his shadow. 
Tuesday 2/2

 Spelling worksheet
 Groundhog worksheet- Read the poem and use the poem to
answer the questions.

Math - RETEACHING- This is in your folder, not in your Math
Homework Book *Math Check-up Tomorrow*
Reread the paper book The Food We Eat to someone at home.
Do practice pages 149 and 150.
Study for your spelling test tomorrow.
Friday 2/5 Show your family the “Home-School Connections” page for
Topic 9. We will be comparing and ordering numbers to 100. Play the
game on the back. You can keep this at home.





Work on your 100’s Day Wear Project. We will be wearing them
on Wednesday, Feb. 10th.
Continue practicing your vocabulary words.
Practice your math flashcards and go on IXL.
Work on your February Reading Log.
Practice reading the poems in your Poetry Binder. Remember
to bring the binder back to school on Monday.
