Directed by Glendele Way-Agle, with musical direction by Bill Wolfe and choreography by Tony Viramontes and Susy Davis, The Full Monty runs July 20-August 26, 2007. Seeing how much their wives enjoy watching male strippers during their "Girls' Night Out," unemployed steelworkers in Buffalo New York come up with a bold way to make some quick cash. In the process they find renewed self-esteem, discover the importance of friendship and renew their ability to have fun. Way-Agle directs an ensemble cast featuring some of Orange County’s finest musical talents including Christina Acero (Vicki Nichols), Mark Coleman (Teddy Slaughter/Repo Man), Ellis LaVere Davis (Harold Nichols), Susy Davis (Susan Hershey), Jeremy Gable (Malcolm Macgregor), James Grant (Noah [Horse] T. Musical accompaniment for The Full Monty will be provided by Ben Wallace (Bass), Todd Gilligan (Drums) and Bill Wolfe (Piano). -- more -- HUNGER ARTISTS GO THE FULL MONTY-– 2 of 3 With a book by Terrence McNally and score by David Yazbek, The Full Monty is theAmericanized version of the 1997 British film of the same name, six unemployed Buffalo steelworkers, low on both cash and prospects, decide to present a strip act at a local club after seeing their wives' enthusiasm for a touring company of professionals. As they prepare for the show, working through their fears, self-consciousness, and anxieties, they overcome their inner demons and find strength in their camaraderie. The musical had its world premiere at the Old Globe Theatre in San Diego. After 35 previews, the Broadway production, directed by Jack O'Brien and choreographed by Jerry Mitchell, opened on October 26, 2000 at the Eugene O'Neill Theatre, where it ran for 770 performances. Terrence McNally won his fourth Tony Award for Best Book of a Musical for Ragtime. He won the Tony in 1996 for his play Master Class; the 1995 Tony, Drama Desk and Outer Critics Circle Awards for Best Play as well as the New York Drama Critics Circle Award for Best American Play for Love! Valour! Compassion!; and the 1993 Tony for his book of the musical Kiss of the Spider Woman. His other plays include Corpus Christi; A Perfect Ganesh; Lips Together, Teeth Apart; The Lisbon Traviata; and It's Only a Play, all of which began at the Manhattan Theatre Club. David Yazbek is a recording artist whose album The Laughing Man won the 1997 N.A.I.R.D. award for Best Pop Album. Other albums include TOCK and the upcoming Damascus! He won the Drama Desk Award for his work in The Full Monty. For theatre he has composed original music for Boy's Life at LCT; Mojo, Atlantic Theatre; The Pope's Nose, Promenade Theatre and over two others.
