African Slave Journal Entry and Photo Story Rubric Name: Keys to Writing a Fictional Narrative and Creating a Photo Story Introduce yourself as a West African. Choose 1 event or experience during ONE day of your life in either West Africa, during the Middle Passage, or in North America. You should provide an accurate description of what happened to you on that day. An explanation of the dilemma you faced. An explanation of how you dealt with the dilemma and why you reacted that way. Your fictional narrative journal entry should be free from spelling and grammatical errors. I focused on one specific event/ experience. I included transitional words, phrases, and clauses (first, next, then, finally, therefore, however, etc.) I included three sensory details (sight, sound, taste, touch, or smell). The visual images and audio I chose were visually appealing and related to the time period and topic. They were striking images that directly related to my topic. I provided a conclusion at the end that summed up what I had learned or how I had changed as an West African as a result of this experience.
