Revised 1-16-14 Lit Analysis Essay: A 10th Grade Honors Research Paper Calendar of Due Dates The following is a list of due dates for the steps in the Lit Analysis Essay. Each step must be shown on the due date. No exceptions will be made. If you are absent on a day when a step is due, it must be time stamped by the end of your class period and placed in my mailbox in the main office or handed in by a friend, classmate, or relative. Steps can be completed early. If a step is not shown on its due date, it will receive no points. If you lose this calendar, you will lose any accumulated points up to that point. No late work for any reason will be accepted for this major assignment. Each body paragraph must be in the Schaffer format All parts of the paper must follow MLA format Paper must have ONE block quote (no more, no less) Sources listed in your Works Cited must be used in your paper. You must use at least 3 sources. (this includes 1984) Paper must be turned in in the following order from top to bottom: Final draft typed, double-spaced, size 12 Times font (including Works Cited) Final outline typed, following correct format Printouts of the pages from your sources—only the pages with the quotes-highlighted (other than quotes from the novel) All other components in folder, including the rubric All parts of the research essay should include direct quotations and paraphrasing from your sources. You must use at least 3 sources in your paper. Only internet sources approved by WHS will be accepted. Plagiarism will earn a grade of zero on the assignment and a cheating referral. Plagiarism includes paraphrasing someone else’s ideas and not citing them. Proper MLA format must be followed including the first page of the paper, citations, page numbering, margins, and the Works Cited page.
