Ethan Frome- One Paragraph Character Analysis
Write a one paragraph character analysis on any character from Ethan Frome. It must
have at least thirteen sentences including three quotes from the story to support
your topic sentence. Your topic sentence will be worded like the following:
_______________________, a character from Ethan Frome by Edith Wharton, is
_______________________, _____________________, and ___________________.
Put the character’s name you select in the first blank and then think of three
adjectives to put in the other three blanks. In your paragraph, discuss these three
character traits for your character. Use three quotes from the story to support your
three points. A quote is anything you copy from the story. It may be narration by the
author or actual dialogue. Cite your quote in this way: “It was the careless, powerful
look he had in spite of his lameness” (Wharton 1). This quote could be used to prove
that Ethan Frome is tough in spite of his disability. Double space your paper or use
ink for your final copy. Set up your paper in this way:
