Fahrenheit 451 – Final Assignment
Pick one of the major characters from the novel (Guy Montag, Mildred,
Clarisse, or Captain Beatty). Your assignment is to come up with five
symbols / things that represent that particular character. You will
create both of the following:
a) Visual representation of these five symbols (collected in a shoebox
or bag, represented on a poster, put together on a glogster,
powerpoint, or prezi presentation, etc.) to share with the class
b) Written explanation of each of these five symbols. Your written
explanation must be IN YOUR OWN WORDS. This must be typed,
double spaced in 12 point Times New Roman (or similar) font with a
typed heading including your name, date, and class. A thorough
paragraph must be dedicated to each symbol explaining its
significance to the character in Fahrenheit 451. Specific examples
from the novel are required to support your explanation, and quotes
are encouraged.
Visual portion: 25 points (each of the five symbols is represented clearly)
Written portion: 50 points (each of the five symbols is explained in detail,
with specific examples from the novel)
