Directions
You will use your NetBooks and research several Supreme Court Cases involving the
1st Amendment right to Freedom of Speech. You will visit a website that reviews
and summarizes each of these cases. Additionally, four of these cases can be
found in your Court Cases packet.
You will summarize 4 court cases each. Everyone will research and summarize 2 of
the following 3 cases: Schenck v. United States, Tinker v. Des Moines, or the
National Socialist Party v. Skokie, Illinois. In addition to this, you will also choose
2 case from the attached list.
Your summaries will contain 4 parts, in the following order:

A brief (2-4 sentence) summary of the case in your own words
A brief (2-4 sentence) summary of the Court’s decision & their reason behind it
Your opinion of the Court’s decision (3-5 sentences)
